About me and my therapy practice

Welcome,

Working integratively,  my approach is tailored to the individual needs of each supervisee, drawing on a range of therapeutic and supervisory models while remaining grounded in my humanistic principles.

I feel that effective supervision is built on a trusting collaborative relationship where curiosity, humour, openness, and respectful challenge can coexist, within the confines of a confidential, contracted working relationship

My aim is to create an environment in which supervisees feel safe to explore all aspects of their their clinical work, addressing ethical dilemmas, professional development, and the emotional impact of their practice.

I see supervision as more than purely case management; it is a space for reflection, growth, learning, and self-awareness.

Together, we can explore your clinical work, therapeutic relationships, diversity and inclusion, ethical decision-making, self-care, and the development of your professional confidence and competence.

If you are looking for a supervisor who offers a warm, reflective, and integrative approach, I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how we might work together.

Practice description

I offer supervision in a quiet,  purpose built office in the Mansfield area. There is parking, refreshments and toilet facilities

I work with trainee's, newly qualified, and experienced counsellors across a variety of settings. I  offer supervision that balances support with thoughtful challenge.

Whether you are looking to deepen your clinical understanding, navigate complex client presentations, or enhance your professional development, I aim to create a reflective space where learning and growth can flourish.

My practice is underpinned by the BACP Ethical Framework, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of ethical, safe, and effective practice. I hold a full DBS certificate and personal indemnity insurance

I value authenticity, compassion, and collaboration, believing that these qualities foster  professional development and ultimately benefit the clients we serve.

My first session

I offer a complimentary 20 min phone consultation to see if I am the right person to assist your professional development.

Our first supervision session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and explore whether we are a good fit for working together. We will discuss your current role, clinical experience, theoretical approach, and what you hope to gain from supervision.

We will also talk through your supervision needs, the client groups you work with, any organisational requirements, and how we can structure our sessions to best support your practice.

This is a chance to discuss expectations, boundaries, confidentiality, contracting, and the practical aspects of working together.

There is plenty of opportunity to ask questions and raise any concerns you may have.

My aim is to create a welcoming, collaborative, and non-judgemental space where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences and identifying your professional development goals.

By the end of the session, we will have agreed on a supervision contract and developed a shared understanding of how we will work together to support your practice, professional growth, and the wellbeing of your clients.

About me and my therapy practice

Often we can find ourselves living a life that does not bring joy or fulfilment, but we continue to put one foot in front of the other trusting that something might eventually change and sometimes we are not aware of why we are unhappy or dissatisfied, this where therapy can help.

I offer a calm, safe, non-judgemental space in which you can explore and share whatever is troubling you, whether it is counselling a short term, a specific issue or  psychotherapy for deeper rooted issues.

Therapy is a process and change takes time so the amount of sessions you may need will vary accordingly, and can be discussed at assessment.

Practice description

What can you expect from me. I will provide a safe environment with regular appointment times, so that together we can explore your issues. I will maintain confidentiality, be non-judgemental, open and honest.

I have been described as warm, friendly and  believe that humour also has a place in therapy (it doesn't always have to be heavy)

Together we can share laughter/tears (where appropriate) and more often than not over a cuppa.

I will not use your time to discuss my issues or seek a friendship with you outside of therapy, you will be at the centre of the work at all times.

My first session

Our first meeting will be a brief informal chat (usually by phone) to decide if I am the right person to help you. After this our first session will be arranged, I like to offer clients a regular, weekly time slot.

On our first session we will complete the necessary paperwork which includes your personal details, a short assessment to establish the main focus for the work and a contract that outlines the details of our working agreement
