About me and my therapy practice
Supervision with me is collaborative and reflective, helping you deepen insight while supporting confident, ethical, and effective clinical practice.
What's important to me is getting to know you, your practice, your therapy learning style and approach, whilst building trust and connection so you feel supported enough to be honest and strong enough to sustain ethical, resilient work with your clients. I work with trainee and experienced counsellors and psychotherapists who want to deepen self-awareness, strengthen clinical confidence, and feel supported in their development.
My approach is person-centred and integrative, combining collaboration and constructive challenge where together, we can explore client work, ethical questions, relational dynamics, and the personal impact of practice in a safe, respectful, and non-judgemental way.
Practice description
I have been a therapist for over 16 years, where the core of my practice for many years was in bereavement and trauma. In more recent years, within my own private practice, my work has expanded to include supporting people experiencing anxiety, low mood, family conflict, relationship difficulties, depression, ADHD and self-esteem challenges. I am also a trained EMDR therapist, helping people to heal by processing distressing memories from difficult life experiences.
Supervision can help you care for yourself, reflect on your work, and grow with confidence. If you are looking for a supervisor who values authenticity, openness, and your development as both a therapist and a person, I’d love to hear from you. Get in touch to arrange a relaxed, no-obligation conversation to see how we might work together.
My first session
I offer a free 30 minute telephone consultation
This can be a good starting point for us both, a chance for you to bring up any questions you have about supervision, you may wish to ask more about my experience as a supervisor or therapist or discuss your own learning style or any support needs you may have in making sure we are a good fit.
My Supervision fee is £60 per 1.5 hours
I look forward to hearing from you.

About me and my therapy practice
Is life heavier than usual? Are you feeling anxious or confused with all that is happening and everything seems like a mess! Taking first step to therapy can feel daunting, especially when you are experiencing anxiety, exhaustion, bereavement, or another loss that has brought unsettling changes to your life. Whatever you are facing, you do not have to work through it on your own.
I’m Paula, and I support people who are navigating loss, struggling in their grief due to a bereavement or trying to put one foot Infront of the other whilst juggling so many obstacles of personal change. You may be carrying on with work, caring for other people, going through the ordinary demands of everyday life, while holding far more inside than others can see.
Grief is not only from losing someone through death. It can also be grieving life losses from a separation, a breakdown in relationship, change in caring responsibilities and shifts in identity, an illness or new diagnosis you are trying to come to terms with, maybe a recent job loss or ADHD diagnosis has brought some unexpected change, menopause or a divorce. Maybe your responsibilities have changed, and you are laying awake at night hoping tomorrow may feel different. Experiences like these can feel deeply unsettling and may leave you feeling isolated, unsure of yourself, or uncertain about what life looks like now.
Together, we can explore what you have experienced, understand the impact of change, recognise the patterns that are influencing how you feel now and consider the changes you would like to make as you move towards a calmer, more hopeful future.
Alongside my therapy practice I work part time within the NHS in a different role supporting people through life changing health conditions. I offer compassionate understanding and communicate very well with people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
Practice description
I have been a therapist for 16 years, starting in a hospital bereavement and trauma service within an accident and emergency department, then in charitable organisations and now in my own private practice.
Clients often tell me their therapy sessions have been transformative. They describe feeling recognised, listened to and understood, leaving sessions with a greater sense of ease and a clearer understanding of themselves and what they need going forward.
Many clients notice their anxiety becoming more manageable and their confidence improving. They often feel more grounded, more self-assured and better equipped to cope.
My own lived experience of grief and loss means that I understand grief often has more than one layer. The pain of the loss itself, and the scary, overwhelming and often uncertain process of learning how to live alongside it and keep going. There is no right or wrong way to experience grief or loss, just your way, unique to you and your lived experience. We can gently explore your loss together, honour what it means to you, and begin to find a way forward at a pace that feels right.
I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). EMDR can help you safely process difficult memories, painful experiences or trauma without reliving them in detail, reducing their emotional intensity and impact on everyday life.
If any of this resonates with you, you are welcome to get in touch by email, phone or text using the details above. Leave your name and contact details and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
I offer face to face therapy, on line via video platform or on the phone.
My in-person sessions happen in a lovely, welcoming office on Rodney Street (L1). There are just 4 small steps up into the building, and once inside, you'll find a comfortable and private space where I hope you'll feel at ease, therapy being just for you, somewhere you can be yourself.
My first session
If you would like to know more,
I offer a 20 minute no obligation telephone call, this is often a good starting point to ask any questions and share what you are hoping for, or simply talk through any expectations you have. During our call I can tell you a little about me and my therapy approach, what you can expect from your 1st session so you can feel comfortable in making the decision that feels right for you.
You may wish to share what has prompted you you to reach out and discuss any hopes or goals you have, even if you are feeling unsure of what you may need or why you are here right now that is ok too.
The most important thing is that you have taken the first step towards making positive change for yourself and we can work to explore the rest together.
Individual Therapy £60 per session
Sessions typically take place on a weekly or fortnightly basis, though can be adjusted to meet your needs and preferences.
