About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified integrative clinical supervisor and counsellor who can provide an authentic space for supervisees, counsellors and trainees where they can offload, reflect, acknowledge any transference and most importantly learn from their supervision sessions in order to be able to move their clients forward.
I use the cyclical model of supervision. Page and Wosket (2015 p.19) state the cyclical model allows;
“enablement of the fullest therapeutic use to made, of the counselling or psychotherapy. It also enables the supervisee to foster their capacity to practice effectively by developing skills and resources together with their ability to reflect upon and conceptualise the therapeutic process”.
The model is simple and effective and allows us to set clear goals whilst adhering to BACP ethical framework.
I am a warm and caring person and aim to ensure I work ethically and non-judgmentally with all my clients. I can offer a honest and congruent space within which you can be assured you will feel safe in the knowledge that the work is confidential and that it is carried out within professional boundaries.
Practice description
I work online with my own clients as well as with supervisees and trainee counsellors.
In my private practice I work primarily from a person-centred stance however, I adapt my approach to meet my clients needs as one size does not fit all and am therefore using an integrative model of working.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Wendy Mayfield and I have been a qualified counsellor since 2005. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals in navigating the challenges of mental wellbeing. My approach is rooted in helping people develop a positive mindset that empowers them to move forward, regardless of the difficulties they may face.
I believe that each person has the potential for growth, and my role is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their emotions, discover their strengths, and work toward lasting, meaningful change. Whether through practical strategies or emotional support, my goal is always to equip my clients with the tools they need to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
If you are looking for guidance or simply someone to talk to, I’m here to help you on your journey toward mental clarity and emotional resilience.
Practice description
I work online via video call.
I am open and approachable and want all my clients to feel comfortable within the online space. We can discuss the things you want to work on and make a plan to move forwards together.
My first session
During the first session we will discuss the counsellor/client contract and I will email this to you should you choose to continue.
I will also discuss my duty of care as a counsellor with reference to safeguarding, record keeping and data protection.
I will then explain confidentiality and exceptions (with regards to safeguarding).
I will then tell you a little about how I work, the models I work with and the process of counselling (if needed).
You will have an opportunity to then discuss your needs and we can make a plan as to how we can move forward together to work towards resolving your issue.
I am passionate about working with people within the therapeutic boundaries and ethical framework as advocated by BACP. I can offer a warm empathetic space within which we can build a trusting relationship.
