About me and my therapy practice
Clinical Supervision
I am a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist, EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner and EMDR Clinical Supervisor (Consultant-in-Training), currently working as a Band 8a EMDR Therapist within an NHS Perinatal Mental Health Service in Cambridgeshire alongside my private practice.
I offer clinical supervision for counsellors, psychotherapists and therapists working with adults. My practice is grounded in trauma-informed, compassionate and formulation-led thinking, creating a reflective space where supervisees can explore both their clients' work and their own development as practitioners.
With over 20 years' experience within NHS mental health services, I have extensive experience working with complex trauma, PTSD and complex PTSD, attachment trauma, dissociation, OCD, anxiety and depression. I also have a particular interest in perinatal mental health, including birth trauma and the psychological transition to parenthood.
Practice description
My approach to supervision
I see supervision as a collaborative process rather than an expert-led conversation. My aim is to provide a psychologically safe space where curiosity, reflection and clinical thinking can develop alongside ethical and safe practice.
Supervision may include formulation, EMDR case conceptualisation, therapeutic process, attachment dynamics, dissociation, risk assessment, ethical dilemmas, countertransference and clinician wellbeing. I enjoy supporting therapists to think through complexity and develop confidence in their own clinical judgement.
Areas of interest
Complex trauma and PTSD/CPTSD.
EMDR-informed practice and trauma-focused therapy.
Attachment and developmental trauma.
Dissociation and structural dissociation.
OCD and anxiety presentations.
Birth trauma and perinatal mental health.
Risk, safeguarding and multidisciplinary working in trauma services.
Practical information
I offer supervision online.
I welcome enquiries from counsellors, psychotherapists and therapists seeking reflective clinical supervision, as well as EMDR therapists looking for EMDR clinical supervision as part of their ongoing practice.
My first session
The first supervision session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and decide whether we are a good fit professionally.
We'll begin by talking about your current role, the client groups you work with, your therapeutic approach and what you're hoping to gain from supervision. We'll also discuss practical arrangements, including confidentiality, boundaries, frequency of supervision and how we'll work together.
If you're seeking EMDR clinical supervision, we'll explore your EMDR experience, the types of presentations you're working with and any areas where you'd particularly like support, such as formulation, stuck processing, dissociation, attachment dynamics, risk or ethical dilemmas.
I see supervision as a collaborative, reflective space rather than somewhere to have all the answers. My aim is to create a psychologically safe environment where we can think together about your clinical work, celebrate what's going well and work through areas that feel complex or challenging.
There is no expectation that you arrive with everything worked out. Curiosity, openness and a willingness to reflect are all that's needed for us to begin building a supportive supervisory relationship.
Where appropriate, supervision may also include thinking about multidisciplinary working, safeguarding, consultation and working within NHS services alongside private practice.
