About me and my therapy practice

Hi, my name is Gordon. Welcome!

I’m am a fully qualified therapist, working online & in person from my private consulting room in zone one of Manchester. I offer supervisees honest useful support on a personal, managerial and ethical level so that you can be a solid and stable practitioner in this rewarding and meaningful profession. Part of my role can be to help you distinguish what are your issues and those of your client base.

The world alone is a chaotic place to manage our own unknowns, anxieties, and traumas especially when you working in this therapeutic profession. I understand that everyone experiences the world and work in different ways, so unique problems require bespoke responses.

You and your client base are constantly creating new beginnings, change, and endings, so it’s natural for you and them to feel emotions strongly, think differently and respond atypically. I help supervisees explore all spheres of their life in and out of work to help them build hope and to cope confidently.

Practice description

I see a diverse range of supivisees from around the world. I welcome everyone who has the want and the will to manage their work dynamically and creativity. I have a dedicated consulting room which is safe, clean, and confidential, so we can work collaboratively and can be available for online work if required.

My first session

I like to describe therapy and supervision as a process. I work with my supervisees on a regular basis at the same time each week/bi weekly/monthly as outlined by BACP code of ethics and based on your requirement. This consistency and containment can be relied upon like a crutch while your work life regains balance. I work on a long-term open-ended bases at a speed that feels right for you.

In the beginning we reference the unknown, as we don’t know what will come up and out of supervision. Fresh starts can feel like we are dropping a pebble in a pond as we grow aware of ripples in your life. As time goes on you will know how to befriend or be with them. All sessions are important, especially the last one. The well-managed, planned ending is your opportunity to have control of one if you haven’t before. We complete when the cases feels right or enough with an understanding that my door remains open to you.

The next step

From my own experience reaching out and sitting in the chair as supervisee can be daunting.

To enter a non-judgmental space, I invite you to contact me via my website (through the ‘contact’ section), email directly, or call, so that we can arrange a zoom or in person assessment to discuss your needs and eligibility, in the hopes to take supervision forward. Please fill out all of your contact details.

The assessment meeting/s is a 50-minute chargeable no obligation to continue exploratory discussion to express: -

• What has brought you to supervision

• What you would like to get out of work together

• The process of supervision

• Questions you may have

• Anything else you think I should know about you.
