About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative counsellor and the practitioner behind Navigating Seasons Counselling Services, based in Oldbury. I am a BACP-accredited counsellor and currently completing the CPCAB Level 6 Certificate in Clinical Supervision. I am a Supervisor in Training, developing my supervisory practice through ongoing learning, reflection and professional development.

My practice is informed by an appreciation of the different experiences, identities and circumstances that shape each person’s life. As a counsellor with lived experience of visual impairment, chronic health conditions and of  Black British Caribbean heritage, I recognise the importance of accessibility, identity, culture and individual difference in therapeutic work.

I see clinical supervision as a collaborative space for reflection, professional development and accountability. I aim to provide a respectful, supportive and non-judgemental environment where practitioners can explore their client work, consider challenges, reflect on their responses and develop their clinical thinking. I believe that openness, curiosity and a willingness to question our practice are important to ethical and effective counselling.

My approach values the therapeutic relationship, self-awareness and the importance of working within professional boundaries and the limits of competence. I welcome honest reflection on both the challenges and successes of practice, recognising that professional development is an ongoing process.

Based in Oldbury, I offer supervision online and by telephone to practitioners across Sandwell, the Black Country, the wider West Midlands and throughout the UK.

Practice description

My counselling approach is integrative, with the person-centred approach at its core. I also draw on psychodynamic thinking, Transactional Analysis (TA), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt therapy, aspects of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic approaches, according to the client’s needs and my competence.

In my developing supervision practice, I draw on the Integrative Developmental Model and the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision. These frameworks inform reflection on supervisee development, client work, therapeutic relationships, the supervisory relationship and the wider context of practice.

My particular areas of interest include complex trauma and complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), neurodiversity, chronic health conditions and sight loss. My perspective is informed by my counselling experience and lived experience, alongside an appreciation of the importance of accessible and inclusive practice.

I aim to support practitioners in exploring clinical work, ethical questions, professional boundaries and their developing therapeutic identity, while remaining mindful of client welfare and the limits of my supervisory competence.

I currently have one free clinical supervision training placement available for a suitable supervisee as part of my CPCAB training. I also offer a free 25-minute initial conversation to discuss supervision needs and suitability.

Clinical supervision fees: £40 per 60-minute session for qualified and newly qualified counsellors, and £30 per 60-minute session for counselling students.

As I am a Supervisor in Training, trainee counsellors should check with their training provider whether supervision with a practitioner at my current stage of training meets their course requirements.

My first session

I offer a free 25-minute initial conversation for prospective clinical supervision clients. This provides an opportunity for us to discuss your supervision needs, professional background, current stage of practice and what you hope to gain from supervision. It also allows us to consider whether working together would be appropriate.

During this conversation, we can discuss your experience, the client work you bring to supervision, your expectations and any relevant training provider or professional requirements. I welcome questions about my approach, the supervision models that inform my developing practice and my current status as a Supervisor in Training.

As a BACP-accredited counsellor currently completing the CPCAB Level 6 Certificate in Clinical Supervision, I aim to be transparent about my training, experience and scope of competence. If you are a trainee counsellor, I recommend checking with your training provider whether supervision with a Supervisor in Training meets your course requirements.

There is no obligation to proceed following the initial conversation. If we agree to work together, we can discuss practical arrangements, confidentiality, contracting, professional responsibilities, fees and the structure of ongoing sessions before supervision begins.

I currently have one free clinical supervision training placement available for a suitable supervisee as part of my CPCAB training.

Supervision is available online and by telephone throughout the UK.

Practice description

Navigating Seasons: Clinical Specialisms and Approach

My counselling work focuses particularly on complex trauma and C-PTSD, neurodiversity, chronic health conditions, sight loss and significant life changes. I also work with anxiety, low mood, burnout, relationships and the many different ways life can become difficult to manage.

I work with adults and young people aged 16+ from all backgrounds. As a Black British Caribbean therapist with lived experience of sight loss and chronic health conditions, I understand how identity, health and the way other people see you can affect how you experience the world and yourself.

My approach is Person-Centred, trauma-informed and integrative. I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what feels useful for you, rather than expecting you to fit into one particular way of working.

Where appropriate, I also draw on IFS-informed ideas to help you make sense of different thoughts, feelings and responses, particularly when parts of you seem to be pulling in different directions. The aim is to help you understand yourself with greater compassion and make sense of what you are experiencing.

Sessions take place from the comfort of your own home by telephone or online video. We work at a pace that feels manageable for you, with space to talk openly about what is happening without judgement.

If you would like to find out more, you can book a free 25-minute Initial Conversation. This gives us an opportunity to talk about what you are looking for and whether counselling with me feels like the right fit.
