About me and my therapy practice
I'm Sam, an experienced Supervisor and accredited counsellor with availability for supervisees working with adult individuals and couples, with in training or qualified.
After qualifying as an Integrative Counsellor and working in private practice for 6 years, I trained as a supervisor to support counsellors working in our ever changing environment. With background experience in the emergency services, armed forces and mental health (public and charity sector), I hope to provide you with a space that feels secure, confident and informative.
I also have experience working with EAPs both as an affiliate and as an employee, which I feel can be beneficial when working to their requirements.
Practice description
In my private practice I work with adults and couples and would be able to support you in the supervision of this work also.
My Supervisor training specifically covers working online and by telephone: with this and my own experience of working in these ways, I am able to provide a knowledgeable space for you to bring your work, what the mode of delivery.
My areas of particular interest when working with clients are neurodivergence (especially within couple relationships) and parental challenges for adult children (such as caring for older parents and narcissism). I'm also developing my knowledge of social media (such as Tiktok) and how my practice (and yours) moves with the changing times.
Using the 7-Eyed Model of Supervision, my aim is to support you in the work you do by ensuring we're able to explore this on all levels. However, I also describe myself as a human counsellor which means I bring my whole self to supervision allowing you to feel safe to share without worry of judgement.

About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Sam, an accredited counsellor and clinical supervisor supporting individual adults, couples and professionals, offering both evening and daytime appointments
I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported.
For individuals, I work with people navigating a wide range of emotional and relational challenges. This may include things such as anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, or feeling stuck or overwhelmed.
Alongside this, I have a particular focus on supporting those living with the lasting effects of difficult early relationships—especially where a parent may have been narcissistic, emotionally unavailable, or inconsistent. These experiences can show up in many ways, including struggles with self-worth, boundaries, people-pleasing, or feeling disconnected from your own needs.
Practice description
I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. You may come to counselling following a life event, because you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply. You don’t need to have a clear reason or know where to begin—this is a space where you can speak openly and feel heard, without pressure or expectation.
Rather than giving advice, I work alongside you to make sense of your experiences in a way that feels right for you. Counselling can help you reflect, recognise patterns, process emotions, and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself. Whether you are working through something specific or seeking greater clarity and direction, the process is led by you.
I also offer couples counselling, providing a supportive and structured space to explore your relationship together. You may be experiencing conflict, disconnection, or communication difficulties, or noticing patterns that feel hard to shift. I support both partners in feeling heard and understood, without blame or judgement, while helping you to listen to one another in new ways.
I offer both weekly couples counselling sessions and Couples Intensive sessions, depending on the level of support and pace that feels right for you.
The focus is on understanding the relationship and the dynamics within it—exploring how individual experiences, needs, and communication styles may be influencing things. I work with couples who are neurotypical, neurodivergent, or a mix of both, supporting you in navigating differences in a way that feels balanced and respectful.
Together, we work towards greater understanding, improved communication, and finding a way forward—whether that means strengthening your connection or navigating change thoughtfully.
More information about working with me individually or as a couple, including weekly and intensive sessions, can be found on my website.
My first session
I understand the first session can be daunting, so I can take the lead by explaining how I work as a counsellor and getting to know you, if you would like. Our first session also includes the completion of a contract which, although there are points I need to let you know about, I invite you to add anything you would like to agree together.
This session also gives you the opportunity to say what has brought you to counselling, what your expectations are and what you would like to achieve.
At the end of the session, there will be the opportunity to book another session. However, it is vital you feel comfortable working with and if you do not, it is okay to decline a second session.

My first session
Whether you're coming to counselling on your own or as a couple, the first session is about getting to know each other and beginning to understand what brings you here. I know starting therapy can feel daunting, so if it helps, I can gently guide the conversation with some questions. That said, if you feel ready to talk — especially if you’ve been holding a lot in — there’s space for that too.
As we come to the end of the session, there’ll be time for you to check in with how you're feeling and decide whether you’d like to book a follow-up. There’s no pressure either way — what matters most is that you feel comfortable and supported.
