I am a fully qualified Counselor, I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), and an Accredited Professional member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS (Acc.)) holding over 4 years experience. I work within the framework of both organisations ethical guidelines.

I am currently undertaking a supervision diploma, I have successfully completed all theoretical aspects of the diploma but I am working towards completion of supervising hours.

My hours are flexible so please contact to enquire.

About me and my therapy practice

I work from both online and face to face platforms, providing a safe, comfortable space for supervision and counselling sessions. My office is located separate to my home and is fully accessible. There is a path, slight incline in to the office via a small ramp, wide doors and inside space to move around with ease.

Please contact me with any other accessibility questions.

I believe in accepting unique phenomenology beyond deterministic notions of fixed ability and to model behavior's that avoid labeling. My sessions create a warm, safe and non-judgmental atmosphere where we can explore together.

Practice description

I am incredibly passionate about Counselling. I myself suffered a life changing injury, leaving me with long term disabilities and stripping me of my whole identity. I aim to initially narrow the gap creating a divide between disabled and abled people, as I believe this creates oppression within society, that can strip individuals of their autonomy. Working from a person-centred (PC) foundation, I utilise integrative counselling skills allowing me to create innovative frameworks unique to the individual. I understand how it can feel being pushed outside, fighting to get in and be recognised. I feel how truly detrimental this can be to a persons wellbeing, self-esteem and ultimately their entire being, them as a person. I aim to create an anti-oppressive safe space, promoting empowerment, where we can explore together.

After achieving a BA hons counselling studies degree at Grimsby University Centre my passion for counselling grew. Continuing to expand on existing knowledge I undertook independent research into equality and diversity, embracing anti-oppressive practice, within the BACP ethical standards. Leading me to contact the BACP directly and influence the May 2023 edition of ‘therapy today’, ‘access all areas’ which features an article by myself, furthermore, having the opportunity to present at a BACP conference.

My core values consist of being congruent, displaying unconditional positive regard (UPR) and empathy. Being transparent, enthusiastic and meeting the individuals needs is essential to a positive environment, building excellent rapport with clients, facilitating therapeutic growth and reaching full potential.

I promote cultural development and understanding through a rich range of experience, both in and beyond my current role. Eradicating prejudice related bullying in relation to the protected characteristics listed in the Equality Act 2010 tackling prejudice and promoting understanding in relation to people with disabilities.

My first session

The initial meeting for supervision will be for us both to see if we 'fit', work well together.

The consultation will last around 20-30 and there will be no charge. This will usually take place via video call unless otherwise stated.

Our first counselling session will be £30 or £25 for a student, we will go through our agreement together, discussing how I work as a supervisor and explore if this fulfills your expectation of supervision.
