About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative counsellor/psychotherapist and counselling supervisor, and  work with several approaches. I am qualified as a Level 6  Counselling Supervisor, and work both within agency and private practice.

As a counselling supervisor I offer:-

A safe space for discussion and exploration, and to work with you to provide the most useful form of supervision that is right for you.

Space to explore own triggers, Space to be authentic.

A space where you can be offered reassurance or different perspectives, and to monitor, challenge, suggest, advise, encourage and support you appropriately in relation to

client work. To also explore and discuss any concerns about client work that may arise and work with you to address them, with a beneficial outcome in mind.

Space that can facilitate support and encourage safe growth for counselling work and practice

Space to explore both personal and professional growth – and how they are connected to enhance practice.

To offer witness to your practice which may otherwise be unseen.

Space to be your authentic self , acceptance, humanness, and ‘okayness’ to share and explore mistakes.

To offer a supervisory relationship that is based on trust, and to invite comment and review of the supervision I provide on an agreed basis..

To fulfil report requirements as and when needed, e.g. for BACP accreditation, training providers

etc.( This may be at additional cost depending on what is required).

It is a good idea to perhaps have some questions you might have for me, and maybe have a few notes of what your supervision needs are. So for example, you might be currentely in training and will be looking for supervision reports, or perhaps there are certain areas you have struggled with in private practice and this might be a key area you wish to work with.

About me and my therapy practice

Something brought you here to this page today....

Maybe you feel you need someone to talk to about what it is you are experiencing and feeling.

Someone who is going to be there to support you and work closely alongside you to help make sense of it all.

Maybe you are unsure what is going on for you right now, but you just know you need help.....

When we experience life's difficulties it can be overwhelming and hard to find the answers to our problems.Through counselling therapy I will offer you the help and support you need to make connections and gain understanding that can lead you to live your life in a more full and positive way making the choices right for you.

Whatever pain or distress you are feeling right now, counselling therapy can be a break through step forward on the path to helping yourself and healing.

I work as an Integrative therapist. This means I work with several kinds of counselling. One size doesn't fit all, and what may work for one person might not for another.

So working with you we can explore your unique situation and find ways to proceed together.

Counselling gives you the space to talk safely and openly in a way you might not have experienced before with friends or family.I will work closely with you with what ever you bring and explore different perspectives to help you gain new awareness and understanding.

I work with the whole of you as a person - mind, body, soul, and emotions . So for example , a sense of numbness or disconnection in any part of you, can be useful to explore as it can be an indicator about what is going on for you and how and why you may be experiencing difficulties.

I also offer if you choose, to work with spirituality and look at what this might mean for you. ( sometimes called soul, gut feeling or 6th sense).

Working with our 'inner knowing' and the transpersonal can gain us deeper insight and connection to our purpose and needs.

Practice description

There are three options I can offer.

face to face appointments. (this is subject to availability ).

Working by ZOOM *(face to face by video ) or video apps i.e. Watts App, enables you to have your session in the comfort of your own home or place of your choosing and is a very popular choice due to the convenience.

Another popular option is by telephone *, again allowing you the freedom of attending your session from a place of your choosing.

* (There are guidelines which we can discuss to ensure the confidentiality of your space you choose , i.e. being overheard or interrupted, as your safety and welfare is paramount).

My first session

Quite often people report that after counselling they feel a better understanding of what has been going on for them. It can be like when you have one of those 'Aha!' moments and discover something for yourself for the first time and everything falls into place and makes sense.

This often leads to feeling empowered and a feeling of enrichment and joy in life again. It can give us a clearer road map of something to work towards day to day and for the future.

You'll receive the help and support you need as you find your answers, that can leave you feeling more in control of your life and improved wellbeing.

When we first make contact , we can talk about what it is you would like to get from your counselling. This may not be immediately clear for you. We can discuss whatever you bring and choose what you would like to set as your focus for the work together. If you feel that what I have to offer is a good fit ,then please give me a call so we can arrange an initial session.

I also have a web site you might like to view at https://holmescounselling.co.uk
