About me and my therapy practice
Good supervision is much more than just somewhere to bring a difficult case. I'm Keturah, a Level 7 (PGCert) qualified clinical supervisor and counsellor. I bring 15 years of experience in mental health services across the NHS, voluntary and higher education services. My aim is to create supervision that feels safe enough to be honest and robust enough to help you think differently. You should be able to bring uncertainty, difficult feelings and professional dilemmas without fear of judgement, while also being appropriately challenged to examine assumptions, notice blind spots and develop your practice.
I offer clinical and reflective holistic supervision for qualified and trainee counsellors and other professionals working across mental health, wellbeing, welfare, and safeguarding roles.
My supervision is collaborative, reflective and appropriately challenging. I draw on the Seven-Eyed Model of supervision, to explore not only the client and the work taking place in the room, but also the relationship between practitioner and client, the supervisee's experience, organisational context, culture, identity and wider systems.
Supervision might involve exploring:
• complex or challenging cases
• risk and safeguarding
• ethical dilemmas
• professional boundaries
• therapeutic relationships
• practitioner responses and emotional impact
• countertransference
• professional identity
• organisational pressures
• cultural and intersectional considerations
• developing confidence and clinical judgement
• reflective practice and professional development
I offer supervision online and by telephone across the UK, with in-person sessions available in South Birmingham.
If you're a trainee counsellor, qualified practitioner or mental health professional looking for supervision, you're welcome to get in touch for an initial conversation about your role and what you're looking for from supervision.
Practice description
I welcome student and trainee counsellors who are developing their therapeutic identity and beginning to navigate the realities of client work. Supervision can provide a space to explore your developing practice, placement experiences, ethical questions, difficult client work, boundaries, confidence and the emotional impact of counselling training.
Alongside counselling supervision, I have particular experience within higher education, and offer supervision to Mental Health Advisors, Wellbeing Advisors, student support and welfare professionals, safeguarding practitioners, mental health mentors, mental health first aiders and those working with complex casework including sexual and domestic violence advisors.
I have many years experience managing a team of mental health advisors within HE and also being a safeguarding lead, affording me a great understanding of the unique role of practitioners working within education and universities.
In more recent years I have developed my counselling specialism to cover fertility and infertility journeys, including fertility treatments, family planning, pregnancy after loss, miscarriage, baby and infant loss and termination for medical reasons, as well as those in the prenatal, perinatal and postnatal phases. I welcome supervisees working in these areas or encountering this within their practice.

About me and my therapy practice
Finding the right counsellor isn't always easy. You might know exactly what you want help with, or simply feel that something isn't quite right and want some space to understand what's happening. Either way, you don't have to have everything figured out before you come to counselling.
I'm Keturah, an experienced integrative counsellor offering a compassionate and non-judgemental space to slow things down, make sense of what's happening and explore what you might want to be different.
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, low mood, stress, overwhelm, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, life transitions and questions around identity, change and the future. You don't need a diagnosis or a clearly defined problem to benefit from counselling. Sometimes life simply feels difficult to navigate on your own.
I have particular experience and advanced training in supporting people through fertility journeys including IVF, miscarriage and pregnancy loss, and next steps after fertility treatment. I also support those navigating pregnancy after loss and the transition to parenthood, including birth trauma and postnatal mental health including postnatal anxiety and postnatal depression. These experiences can bring complicated and sometimes unexpected emotions, affecting relationships, confidence, identity and hopes for the future. Counselling can offer somewhere to explore all of this without judgement, pressure or expectations about how you should be feeling.
I also work with student and trainee counsellors, supporting them through the personal and professional challenges that can come with counselling training, placements, academic demands and developing a professional identity. It can be a lot to hold alongside everyday life, and having somewhere to think it through can make a real difference.
Practice description
My approach is integrative, with a person-centred foundation. Rather than expecting you to fit a particular therapeutic model, I draw on different approaches depending on you, your circumstances and what feels most helpful. I believe counselling should be collaborative: a space where you can be yourself, explore difficult things at your own pace and feel genuinely heard.
I bring over 15 years' experience working in mental health across voluntary, NHS and higher education settings, including experience of complex mental health difficulties and safeguarding. This wider experience informs the way I work and helps me understand that what you're experiencing doesn't happen in isolation from the rest of your life.
I offer counselling online and by telephone across the UK, with in-person sessions available in South Birmingham.
