Practice description
Practice description
I believe that clients need to be comfortable with their choice of therapist. My service is inclusive, and I work with any demographic, but am congruent about my expertise with specific client issues, to ensure I am offering you the best support that I could provide. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
I have a long and considered training journey from psychology to training as a fully qualified integrative therapist, which means that my training is embedded in a practice of compassion and remains academically informed
I am: Caucasian, British, English-speaking, female
I work with a wide variety of issues, and have experience in various types of therapeutic techniques and methods. My support in supervision is informed by various models of counselling practice including: integrative, narrative, attachment, CBT, psychodynamic, systemic, and experiential counselling.

Further information
• I have experience working as a Senior Counsellor with teenagers and adolescents and have worked in education for over 14 years.
• I have an excellent understanding of the English education system from secondary through to higher education, and some clients find it helpful for their counsellor to be informed in these areas if their present concern centres on experience in schools/education (e.g. exam stress).
• My research in academia focuses on the difficulties 18-25-year-olds face in accessing mental health support, and I am keen to facilitate and offer advice around access to both private and public mental health services.
Practical information:
• For online sessions, please ensure you have a good connectivity and access to a private environment. I recommend that you use headphones with a microphone to keep your sessions private.
• After we have had an introductory session, I will send you an information document to help support the rest of our sessions together.

About me and my therapy practice
Online Counselling and Supervision by DEvans Counselling
“For when your mind needs to breathe"
In the midst of daily life, we often forget to make space for our minds to breathe; time to process and understand the goings on around us and the thoughts and emotions within us. My counselling service aims to support individuals who simply need the time, the space, and an impartial, empathic listener to help process their own content. For some this may be mental health struggles and difficulties, for others it may be simply a need to talk, but most importantly... I aim to create space where you are able to talk without judgement and without fear, but openly about your own story.
I work as an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor. This essentially means that I work with a combination of modalities to help support your wellbeing and your route to better health. I start with a 'person-centred' core, which means I offer a warm and inviting environment for you to describe your own story (and/or presenting issue), and use ideas from cognitive-behavioural, systemic, psychodynamic, narrative, and attachment approaches to support the exploration of your story and help you reach the goal of your therapy journey. I have a keen interest in existential therapy and using philosophy to promote change where change is desired.
Counselling trainees: I have a variety of experience working in education, with undergraduates and currently work on a counselling training course in a UK university.
