About me and my therapy practice
I am a trainee supervisor looking to provide low cost supervision to both counsellors who are experienced and those of you just starting out, who might need a calm and gentle hand to guide you through.
My aim is to provide you with a safe, professional space to support your work with clients and your professional development.
Clinical supervision allows for structured reflection on your practice and encourages the development of skills, knowledge, awareness and ethical judgement within a supportive relationship.
I aim to develop a trusting relationship with you where you feel comfortable to bring your challenges, successes, dilemmas and even errors – as we are all human and can get things wrong sometimes.
Practice description
As a counsellor and a trainee supervisor, I use a relational, integrative model based primarily on a combined person centred and psychodynamic modality. I also draw on attachment theory and on bereavement and trauma-informed models. The main model that I use to underpin my supervision work is the Seven Eyed Model, which helps to explore casework from the perspective of the client, the supervisee and the supervisor and to look at the relationships that exist between all of them.
My areas of specialism include: bereavement, trauma, loss, working with adults with ADHD and autism, living with cancer, attachment and relationship difficulties as well as anxiety, depression, work-related stress and burnout.
I have a background in teaching and psychology and worked as a local authority Educational Psychologist for many years in schools and as a co-leader of a team of psychologists.
My first session
I offer a free 15 minute online consultation to see if we would be a good match to work together as supervisor and supervisee. Following this we can go in to book our first full, paid session.
In the first full session we will look at your caseload and how you are set up to work e.g. online, in person, privately, as part of an agency etc. We will spend some time getting to know each other as I feel it is important for me to have a sense of what else is going on in your life to best support you in supervision and with your own wellbeing. From there we will go on to discuss any casework that you would like to bring to the session.
I am happy to offer 1 hour or 1.5 hour supervision sessions at a cost of £25 per hour.

I work face to face on Monday afternoons near Clapham Junction but am also available on Tuesdays and Thursdays and on Monday evenings online or by phone.About me and my therapy practice
Are you dealing with a bereavement, loss or major change in your life such as a diagnosis of autism, ADHD or cancer? Are you feeling high levels of anxiety or overwhelmed by trauma from your past or from a current relationship? Are you experiencing family or relationship difficulties or realising your values are different from the ones you grew up?
I am an integrative counsellor which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and techniques that are most appropriate for you as the client.
The key to successful outcomes in counselling is the quality of the relationship between the counsellor and the client so I offer a friendly, empathic and authentic approach with some gentle challenge when needed!
If appropriate, we may explore your early life experiences and relationships to better understand your current way of being.
Practice description
I work mostly online using Zoom as I feel this gives greater flexibility to access counselling and it allows you to be in a setting where you feel most comfortable, however I also have some limited in person availability based near Clapham Junction.
I have worked as a teacher, a psychologist and a team manager. I am a mother (of two teenage children and one needy cockapoo) and have lived part of my life in the Middle East.
As a trained Educational Psychologist, I have a sound understanding of how additional needs such as autism and ADHD can impact your daily life and relationships. I also have extensive experience of working with bereavement, trauma, work stress, problematic family relationships and living with cancer.
My counselling process will help you to explore the sometimes painful feelings, past experiences and stuck patterns of behaviour that may be holding you back.
By working together with me, you will understand yourself better, leading to greater self-acceptance and behavioural change. You will feel validated and calmer, have a more balanced perspective and feel able to manage difficult feelings and situations with greater success. This will lead to improved relationships and a sense of being your true, authentic self.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute initial phone consultation. This allows you to share why you are seeking support and to ask any questions.
Following this, we may set up an initial 50-minute assessment session, which will be charged, and from there we can decide whether we will continue to work together.
I offer a concessionary rate of £50 to students and those on low incomes.
