Availability

I am currently accepting new enquiries.

As I complete my school counselling contract, online appointments will be available from Monday 13 July. Face-to-face counselling from my private practice in Rutland is expected to begin from September, when my new counselling space is complete.

My working hours are flexible, and I offer both daytime and limited evening appointments, subject to availability. If you're unsure whether I have a suitable appointment, please get in touch—I'll always do my best to accommodate your preferred days and times where possible.

I aim to respond to all enquiries within two working days and am not currently planning any extended periods of leave.

About me and my therapy practice

My approach to supervision is warm, collaborative and grounded in curiosity rather than judgement. I believe good supervision should be a place where you can think out loud, explore uncertainty, celebrate successes and feel safe enough to bring the sessions that didn't go quite as you had hoped.

While my work is rooted in person-centred values, I tailor supervision to the individual, recognising that every counsellor brings their own way of working, strengths and areas for development. I draw on a range of therapeutic ideas and approaches where appropriate, always keeping the supervisory relationship at the heart of the process.

My supervision is informed by the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision (Hawkins & Shohet), creating space to reflect not only on client work, but also on the therapeutic relationship, your own internal responses, ethical considerations and the wider systems that influence practice. I aim to support supervisees in developing confidence, clinical thinking and reflective practice while maintaining a strong focus on safe and ethical client care.

I see supervision as a collaborative professional relationship rather than a process of being "checked" or assessed. My role is to offer support, constructive challenge and a space where curiosity can flourish. I value open discussion, honest reflection and the opportunity to think together about both the therapeutic process and the therapist behind the work.

Whether you're a trainee counsellor, newly qualified or an experienced practitioner, I aim to create an environment where you feel comfortable bringing both your uncertainties and your achievements. Together we can explore difficult client work, celebrate progress, deepen your understanding of your own therapeutic style and continue developing into the counsellor you want to become.

Practice description

I offer clinical supervision to trainee and qualified counsellors working with adults, children and young people, either in private practice or within organisational settings.

Supervision is available online and face-to-face from my private practice in Rutland. Sessions are tailored to your individual needs and can support both your clinical practice and your wider professional development.

I recognise that supervision looks different at different stages of a counsellor's career. Some supervisees are developing confidence as they establish their practice, while others are seeking a reflective space to think more deeply about complex client work, ethical dilemmas, professional identity or the impact the work has on them personally. Wherever you are in your professional journey, I aim to provide a consistent, supportive and professionally challenging supervisory relationship.

Alongside regular case discussion, supervision may include ethical decision-making, safeguarding, risk assessment, self-awareness, professional resilience, reflective practice and consideration of the wider systems that influence therapeutic work. My intention is to create a space where curiosity is encouraged, mistakes can be explored safely and learning remains at the heart of the supervisory process.

I welcome enquiries from trainee and qualified counsellors who are looking for a warm, collaborative and reflective supervisory relationship.

My first session

I offer a free introductory telephone or Zoom call of around 20–30 minutes before arranging our first supervision session.

This gives us both the opportunity to get to know one another, discuss what you're looking for from supervision, and consider whether we feel we'd work well together. Choosing a supervisor is an important professional decision, and I believe it's helpful to have an informal conversation before making that commitment.

If we both feel we're a good fit, we'll arrange our first supervision session and discuss practicalities such as frequency, contracting and any questions you may have.

My aim is for you to come away from our initial conversation with a clear sense of how I work and whether my approach feels right for you.

About me and my therapy practice

My name is Brigitte, though many of my clients know me as Bee. I’m a Person-Centred Counsellor working in the Rutland area.

My work is grounded in the Person-Centred approach, which means I don’t diagnose, direct, or give advice — instead, I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, accepted, and supported to explore what’s going on for you. I believe that, given the right conditions, we all have the capacity to grow, heal, and move towards the life we want.

In sessions, I follow your lead. Some clients come with a clear goal or issue in mind, while others just know something doesn’t feel right and want time to make sense of things. Both are completely welcome. Depending on your preferences, we may work mostly through talking, but I also sometimes incorporate gentle creative tools, drawing, or grounding techniques when they feel helpful.

I work with a wide range of concerns and tailor each session to your pace and needs. My style is calm, down-to-earth, and emotionally attuned. If you’re curious about starting therapy, we can arrange an initial consultation to see how it feels to work together.

Practice description

In my practice, I offer a calm, confidential space where you can explore what’s going on for you—without judgement, pressure, or the need to have all the answers. My approach is Person-Centred, which means I work alongside you, rather than directing or diagnosing. I trust that, given the right conditions, you’ll find the insight and resilience you need to move forward.

I am a trauma-informed practitioner and work sensitively with the impact of past experiences, helping clients process overwhelm, anxiety, low mood, or a deep sense of stuckness. I also have experience working with children and young people, and adapt my approach to meet them in a way that feels safe, supportive, and appropriately paced.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and typically take place weekly, though I’m happy to discuss what works best for you. I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy, depending on your needs.

Clients often come to me during times of transition, self-doubt, or emotional exhaustion. Some arrive with a clear focus; others simply need space to think and feel. Both are welcome. We might talk, reflect, or use creative tools—whatever feels most helpful to you.

From November 2025, clients will also have the optional opportunity to work with Goose, my Golden Retriever, who is currently in training to join me in sessions as a therapy dog. He brings a gentle, grounding presence and can be particularly helpful for clients who find comfort in animal companionship.

Whether you're facing a particular challenge or seeking greater self-understanding, you're invited to bring your full self to the work. If you're unsure about starting, we can book an initial consultation to see how it feels.

My first session

I offer a free initial exploratory phone call to discuss what you're looking for in therapy and what you hope to gain from it. This is an informal conversation and typically lasts between 10 and 30 minutes, depending on your needs. There’s no fee for this call, and no pressure to commit.

If it feels like we might be a good fit, we can then arrange a full 50-minute introductory session. This is a regular therapeutic session, charged at my standard rate of £60, and gives you the opportunity to experience how I work and whether the space and approach feel comfortable and supportive for you.
