About me and my therapy practice

I'm an integrative practitioner, with particular interest in somatic trauma-informed therapy, parts work and supporting neurodivergent clients.  I'm warm, friendly and encouraging, aiming to nurture a 'realness' with supervisees that allows curiosity to develop. I want us to feel safe to explore even the hardest of issues in our work together. Nonetheless, I'm direct and open to being more challenging if that suits you. I respect that we need to build a trusting relationship for challenge to feel supportive so I commit to creating this with you. I welcome you challenging me too so we can learn from one another.

I value honesty, courage and a willingness to learn with accountability. I'll encourage these relentlessly in my supervisees, priding myself in my determination to support you to be the therapist you want to be. I'll support you with compassion and interest, whilst honouring your accountability for your own work.

My interest in somatic therapy means I explore the experience of our internal responses and how these inform our practice.  I consider our emotional, cognitive, physiological and behavioural responses and explore how they impact dynamics with the client. I am a relational supervisor, so I'm curious about how our relationship offers insights into your client work. I weave "parts work" into supervision, under-pinned by Schwartz's Internal Family Systems approach,  to reflect on responses impacting how we work and feel with our clients and self. Understanding how different 'parts of self' think, feel, behave and drive us, can really tease out the complexity of our reactions, helping us unblock stuckness and acknowledge our beliefs and feelings triggered by our clients.

If you're curious about whether my style resonates with you, then be in touch so we can chat about what supervision means for you at whatever stage of your career.

Practice description

I work from home in my cosy therapy room near Brackley, south Northamptonshire. I always prefer to meet in person, but I understand the preciousness of time to busy practitioners so regularly work online with supervisees and clients. I'm also open to working with people from all over the UK/world, so being online helps overcome distance.

We'd start by meeting for a 'discovery call', a relaxed conversation about out what you're looking for in a supervisor. I'll share how I work, what's important to me, and we'd see if our values and approaches feel compatible. I'm open to working with practitioners from a wide range of approaches - being integrative gives me a broad appreciation of different modalities.

I work primarily on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during the day, but could be open to more flexible times if need be.

My first session

Our first conversation will be a free 20-30 minute discovery session to find out if we want to work together.

Our first session will then be at my regular rate of £65 per hour.  We would discuss our working supervisory agreement, clarifying our professional responsibilities, expectations, goals and any concerns. We'll review all these important elements as we move through our work together to ensure you feel supported and progressing as you wish.

If we agree to work together, we'd agree how often to meet to suit your your support needs and professional body's practice requirements.  If there are any additional reports you need, my fees will be agreed up front with you.

About me and my therapy practice

Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed, stuck, lost, confused, exhausted. Counselling helps you make better sense of your thoughts and feelings and find a way through your challenges.

I believe you already have all you need within you to be who and how you want to be. I passionately believe change is possible if you want it to be. You may just need a helping hand to see what's getting in the way. I'd like to help you better understand yourself, so you can develop self-compassion and strategies to thrive.

Asking for help can feel so hard. You've come this far! Let's see if  working together feels OK for you. I'm friendly, open-minded, down to earth and patient, and I'll do my best to put you at ease so you can be yourself.

I work with teenagers, young people (13+years) and adults, welcoming all cultures, identities and issues. It's my job to be non-judgmental, and I'll aim to show you empathy, a supportive nurturing style and even bring a little humour if that's helpful! Let's find your way to feel better in yourself.

Practice description

I will help you develop self awareness, a toolkit of strategies to support yourself and, most importantly, self-compassion.

I work integratively so I combine different techniques depending on your needs. My trauma-informed approach draws on Parts work, Somatic Therapy (attending to emotions affecting your body), Compassionate Inquiry, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Attachment theory and Coaching.

I'll help you become curious about the connections between your brain-body-emotions, exploring what you can change and practise to improve your wellbeing.  You will learn ways to identify, process and regulate your emotions. Sometimes it's hard to express through words, so we may use creative or somatic exercises to explore what's going on for you.

Having your story heard without judgment and in complete privacy, can help you feel validated and process your own experiences. Being able to explore freely can be truly liberating and enlightening in itself.

I offer face to face sessions in my own comfortable counselling room, or online if preferred. I also offer outdoor sessions where we can 'walk and talk' in an agreed location... moving and breathing in nature can sometimes provide more space to explore .

So let's explore what could be helpful for you. Together, we can find your light within and let it truly shine!

My first session

You're welcome to see if you're comfortable working with me. Not everyone clicks, so you need to find the right therapist for you. I offer a free 20-30 minute introductory chat to see what support you need and how I might be able to help you. Feel free to be in touch!
