About me and my therapy practice
There are times in life when we feel overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or stuck, disconnected from ourselves or others - when our usual ways of coping no longer seem to help. You don’t have to face this alone. I offer a calm, compassionate space where you can talk openly and feel heard without judgment. I am an experienced integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches to support understanding, bring hope, healing, and meaningful change.
In short-term work, we might focus on developing practical strategies to help you cope more effectively and feel more balanced day-to-day. In longer-term therapy, we may explore deeper emotional experiences - understanding how your past and present relationships shape your sense of self and impact your wellbeing, so that new choices and change become possible.
I offer a warm, safe, and confidential space where you can explore your inner world at your own pace. I am committed to creating a collaborative and non-judgmental environment where you feel supported in working towards the goals that matter to you - whether that’s reducing distress, gaining clarity, improving relationships, or deepening self-understanding.
Practice description
My approach is client‑led, giving you the freedom to bring whatever feels important at your own pace. Together, we can make sense of your experiences, understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and think about the changes you hope to make.
I have developed my experience over many years in a variety of organisational settings, supported by a wide range of professional training.
I hold a PG Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and Psychotherapy (Level 7) BA Hons degree in Integrative Counselling, a Level 7 IAPT (NHS) Diploma in Couples Therapy for Depression and I am an EMDR therapist. I am also a qualified Clinical Supervisor.
For you as a client, this means our work is held by both solid therapeutic foundations and the depth that comes from working with many different people and situations. Clients describe me as an empathic, thoughtful and effective therapist who offers a calm, supportive space where meaningful change can begin to take shape.
Alongside individual therapy, I am a trained couples counsellor with specialist training in Couples Therapy for Depression. I support couples who are experiencing relationship distress, communication difficulties, emotional disconnection, or the impact of life events on their relationship. I aim to help partners understand their patterns, strengthen connection, and find new ways of relating.
At the heart of my work is the belief that a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change. Whether you come as an individual or a couple, you will be met with warmth, respect, and genuine interest in your story.
My first session
Your first session is a chance for us to get a sense of one another and for you to talk about what has brought you to therapy. We’ll explore what feels most important for you right now, think about what you’re hoping for from counselling, and begin to understand the areas you may want to focus on. I’ll ask some gentle questions to help me understand your history, your current situation, and what support might be most helpful. There’s no pressure to share anything before you’re ready — the pace is always yours. This initial meeting also gives you an opportunity to see how it feels to work with me and to decide whether this approach feels like the right fit for you.
I provide counselling sessions online or in person from my therapy room in Bere Regis.
Standard sessions last 50 minutes (couples therapy up to 1.5 hrs).
Sessions are booked in advance and usually start on a weekly basis, helping to create consistency and a steady foundation for the work.
Short-term and long-term therapy is available.
