Practice description
Let's start with the boring bit. I am registered with two governing bodies: the UKCP and the BACP. This means I adhere to robust ethical frameworks — basically, I am not a charlatan! When looking for a therapist, it’s really important to find one who is properly qualified, as "counsellor" isn't a protected title. No one tells you this, and let’s face it, when you're feeling down enough to reach out, why would you think to ask?
How do I work? What do I specialise in? These are common questions. I see counselling as a safe space to explore how and why you are who you are (you might need to read that again!). Your struggles, intense feelings, overwhelm, anxiety, and stress—they’re all there for a reason, often rooted in cycles of behaviour and beliefs we've been shown as we grow up. We can work through all of that together. Your inner workings don't have to be a big, scary mess.
Everyone comes to therapy for different reasons: trauma, childhood issues, relationships, moods, etc. But when we get down to it, there’s so much more to explore and discover. I see each client as a unique individual, without labelling them as ‘abused’ or ‘neurodiverse.’ I see you as you are, and we work from there. Are you truly ‘broken'? It’s easy to feel that way without a true understanding of yourself. And that’s what I’m here to help you find.
Feel free to ask for an intro call — let’s have a chat and see what we can do.
