About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced qualified counsellor and Clinical Supervisor. My supervision work is integrative, rooted in a Person Centred philosophy and key concepts of supporting the internal supervisor and counsellors autonomy, unconditional regard, empathy and congruence. My ethos is grounded in working in a holistic and relational way, with a foundation of kindness and compassion.
I provide a depth and sensitivity to my supervision, and work with respect for difference, diversity and cultural attunement. Drawing on the Seven Eyed Model by Hawkins and Shohet, I would like to believe we can work together by being curious and compassionate when exploring the wider relations and cultural dynamics that shapes our work.
I believe in the power of genuine human connection and I am passionate about holding a reflective space where my supervisees can feel safe and supported. I am mindful of the importance of pausing, processing and allowing the space for what needs to unfold. I encourage supervisees to slow down when needed, to connect with their own wisdom to deepen their understanding of both their client work and themselves.
Practice description
I can offer an initial chat to see if the way I work aligns with your needs. This will last 30 minutes and and will be free of charge.
I use the 7 eyed model. Building up on our initial discussions we will work on your aims for supervision, getting to know each other, build trust and confidence and maintain a reflective practice. By exploring challenges, therapeutic dynamics and learning I aim to gently facilitate a sense of autonomy and empowerment.
My counselling experience and specialisms are Trauma focused therapy for PTSD and adverse childhood experiences. I support clients in navigating difficult emotional experiences including complex and traumatic grief, anticipatory loss, anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, self harm and suicidal thoughts.
Our work can take place either face to face in my therapy room in Preston or online nationally.
I work alongside both trainee and experienced counsellors.
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate to work with adults and children.
I am available for long term supervision and for one off session to cover breaks due to sickness or holidays
My first session
In our first session we will take time to begin our work together by exploring the supervision agreement, including confidentiality and boundaries. We will also talk about what you are hoping to gain from supervision and how I can support you.
We will regularly reflect on our work to ensure you are getting what you need from supervision.
Sessions are £50 an hour / £75 for 90 minutes. Concessionary rates for trainees and variable fees due to circumstances-costings can be discussed
