About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Trupti Kavia, a BACP registered integrative counsellor and clinical supervisor. Alongside my private practice, I work in a school setting as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and also support young people through Childline. This means my supervision is strongly grounded in ethical practice, safeguarding, risk awareness, and trauma-informed working.
My supervision approach is integrative, relational and reflective. I work primarily using Hawkins & Shohet’s Seven-Eyed Model, which allows us to explore client work from multiple perspectives — not only what is happening for the client, but what is happening within the therapeutic relationship, within you as the practitioner, and within the wider organisational and systemic context.
In supervision, I aim to offer a space that is both supportive and robust — a place where you can think deeply, develop confidence, and feel held while working with complexity. I have a particular interest in helping supervisees explore:
- the emotional impact of client work
- transference and countertransference
- parallel process
- ethical dilemmas and decision-making
- safeguarding and risk management
- the therapist’s use of self
- working within schools, agencies, and multi-disciplinary systems
I offer supervision to trainee counsellors and qualified practitioners, and I welcome therapists working with young people, families, neurodiversity, and complex presentations. Sessions are available online, by telephone, and face-to-face (Enfield and Finchley).
Practice description
My supervision practice offers a reflective, supportive and ethically grounded space for counsellors to think deeply about their client work and develop as practitioners.
I work primarily using Hawkins & Shohet’s Seven-Eyed Model, which supports a layered exploration of clinical material. This means supervision is not only focused on “what to do next”, but also on understanding the therapeutic relationship, the supervisee’s internal responses, the wider system, and the unseen dynamics that may be shaping the work.
In supervision, we may explore:
- the client’s presenting issues and process in therapy
- the therapeutic relationship and relational dynamics
- transference, countertransference and parallel process
- the supervisee’s emotional and somatic responses
- risk, safeguarding and ethical decision-making
- identity, culture, power and difference in the room
- organisational pressures and systemic influences
My style is warm, steady and collaborative, while also offering appropriate challenge when needed. I aim to help supervisees feel supported, resourced and more confident in their clinical judgement, particularly when working with complexity, trauma, neurodiversity, or high-risk presentations.
I offer supervision to trainee and qualified counsellors, including:
- trainee counsellor supervision
- integrative supervision
- school-based counselling supervision
- safeguarding-focused supervision
- supervision for those working with children, young people and families
Sessions are available online, by telephone, and face-to-face in Enfield and Finchley.
My first session
The first supervision session is a space to get to know each other and to ensure that my supervision style feels like the right fit for you. It also allows us to set a clear foundation for safe, ethical and supportive work together.
In the first session, we will cover:
- your training background, modality and current placement/work setting
- your supervision requirements (BACP / course expectations, client hours, frequency)
- how you work with clients and what you would like from supervision
- how you manage risk, safeguarding and ethical dilemmas
- any particular client groups you work with (e.g., young people, schools, neurodiversity, trauma)
If you have clinical material ready, we can also begin exploring a case using Hawkins & Shohet’s Seven-Eyed Model, so you can experience how I structure supervision and the depth we can work at.
We will also agree practicalities such as confidentiality, boundaries, record keeping, cancellations, and how we will work together in a way that supports both you and your clients.
I do not offer a different rate for the first session, however, I aim for it to feel containing, structured, and genuinely useful, not just an introductory chat.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Trupti Kavia, a BACP registered integrative counsellor with over 20 years’ experience supporting children, young people, adults and families across educational, social care and therapeutic settings.
My work is grounded in warmth, emotional safety, and a deep respect for each person’s story. Many clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or emotionally exhausted — sometimes carrying experiences they have never spoken about before. I offer a calm, confidential space where you can slow things down, make sense of what’s happening internally, and begin to feel more like yourself again.
I work integratively, which means I draw from a range of approaches including relational, psychodynamic and Gestalt therapy, tailoring sessions to suit your needs rather than using a “one size fits all” model. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship — building trust, helping you feel understood, and supporting you to explore both present-day struggles and deeper emotional patterns.
At its core, integrative therapy is about seeing you as a whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and addressing the unique interplay of these aspects in your life. We will work together to understand how past experiences, present challenges, and future goals connect, fostering deeper self-awareness and growth.
Alongside my private practice, I work within a school setting as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and also support young people through Childline, which gives me a strong foundation in risk awareness, trauma-informed practice, and the complexities many individuals face behind the scenes.
I offer therapy for young people aged, adults, and couples, and I work both online and by telephone, with sessions available on a sliding scale.
Practice description
In my practice, I offer a calm, confidential and supportive space where you can talk openly at your own pace, about what’s been difficult. Some people come with a clear reason for therapy, while others simply know they don’t feel like themselves anymore. Either way, we begin where you are.
I work in a way that is warm, relational and grounded. Sessions are not about being judged, “fixed,” or pushed into solutions too quickly. Instead, we focus on understanding what is happening beneath the surface, emotionally, psychologically and sometimes physically — and gently making sense of the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
As an integrative therapist, I tailor therapy to you. This may include exploring early experiences, relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, trauma responses, emotional regulation, boundaries, and the impact of life events. We can also work more practically when needed — for example, supporting you to manage overwhelm, reduce anxiety, or build coping strategies.
I work with young people, adults and couples. Sessions are available face-to-face in Enfield and Finchley, and I also offer online and telephone therapy, depending on what feels most comfortable and accessible for you.
Many clients tell me they value having a space that feels steady, compassionate and emotionally safe — somewhere they can reflect, breathe, and begin to rebuild a stronger relationship with themselves.
My first session
The first session is a gentle starting point. It’s a chance for you to get a feel for me, how I work, and whether therapy with me feels like the right fit.
In our first session, we will take time to explore what has brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping for — whether that feels clear, or still a bit uncertain. I may ask some questions to help me understand your current situation, your background, and what support has (or hasn’t) been helpful in the past.
There is no pressure to share everything straight away. Many people arrive feeling nervous, emotional, or unsure what to say — and that is completely normal. I work at your pace, and my priority is that you feel safe, heard, and supported.
Before we finish, we will talk through practicalities such as confidentiality, boundaries, how we will work together, and what ongoing sessions might look like. If it feels appropriate, we may also begin identifying early themes and patterns — including the emotional roots of what you are experiencing now.
Some clients leave the first session feeling lighter, and others leave simply feeling more grounded and clearer. Either is okay — the first session is about beginning the relationship, not having all the answers.
