About me and my therapy practice
My approach is supportive, caring, and compassionate as well as helping you to feel safe and empowered in the work you are doing. I aim to help you become the best therapist you can be, to help you to grow in a therapeutic relationship that is built on trust and collaboration. I offer Creative Integrative Supervision and am qualified in the following therapeutic models. Integrative: Person-centred / Attachment / CBT. Through working with these models, I am comfortable working with a variety of modalities. I work 1:1 and with groups. I am happy to hold our sessions in person (Leicestershire), online or by telephone. Please get in touch for a free 15 mins telephone consultation.
Practice description
As a creative supervisor, I intend to provide a professional space that is both nurturing and compassionate, where you feel supported to bring your whole self to supervision. Together, we will explore your work with clients, consider your ethical and legal responsibilities within your professional framework, and attend to your restorative and self-care needs.
At its heart, supervision is a space for learning and growth. I encourage supervisees to engage in a reflective and collaborative process, where curiosity and openness guide our work. I hope that you feel safe to explore the uncomfortable or challenging moments of your practice in a non-judgmental environment, while also taking time to recognise and celebrate your successes.
My approach to supervision draws upon the Proctor Functional Model (1993) and the Hawkins and Shohet Process Model (2000). Proctor identifies three key functions of supervision—Normative, Formative, and Restorative. In addition, I integrate the Hawkins and Shohet (2000) Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision, which offers a holistic framework to explore the multiple layers of the supervision process. I further integrate elements of the CRAFTS Model of Creative Supervision which can help us to explore your work through a creative lens.
I have over 5 years of experience volunteering and working as a therapist, both in charity, public, and private settings. I am currently running a successful private practice. My background is in education, where I worked as a teacher for over 20 years. My therapeutic approach is integrative (person-centred, attachment, and CBT). I am qualified up to master's level (level 7) and I am a registered member of the BACP, currently working towards accreditation. I have a vast amount of experience as a therapist, having worked with a variety of presenting issues. I specialise in grief, illness, and self-esteem issues. In my practice I work with 16-plus young adults and adults.
My first session
I offer a 15 mins telephone consultation which gives us the opportunity to check we are a good fit. In our 1st session we will go through the supervision contract and get to know each other. Please get in touch, I look forward to hearing from you.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Celia, I am an integrative therapist based in Rothley, Leicestershire. I hold a Masters in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. It is important to me to offer you a counselling experience that is non-judgmental, compassionate, and caring. By nature, I am a creative person, so my approach offers a creative side when this is appropriate for you the client. My aim is for you to feel heard in a safe space provided by me, this can be face-to-face, online or via the telephone. I hope that you will feel supported by me in our work together.I work with different theories, approaches, and techniques to best suit you as the client. I work by putting you at the centre of therapy offering empathy, being honest and open with you and providing a non-judgemental approach. Together we can explore patterns in relationships developed in childhood and how that is impacting your life now whilst also focusing in on thought processes and their impacts. I work within the ethical framework set out by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I have a background in Education where I was a Primary School Teacher for over 20 years. In this time my passion for mental health developed and saw me working to support children's and adults' mental health through the use of mindfulness techniques.
I have experience working with cancer in a therapeutic setting having volunteered for a cancer charity for the past 3 years. Here I supported clients who themselves had been diagnosed with Cancer but also other family members and relatives. I am currently working within an NHS setting supporting NHS staff members as a counsellor and psychotherapist within the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service.
Practice description
I am currently working with young people aged 16+ and adults. I have experience working with a wide range of problems including depression, anxiety, grief/loss, personal and relationship issues, work-related stress, and emotional, financial, and sexual abuse. I have a specialty in working with people facing illness, especially cancer, including relatives affected by this issue.
The relationship that we build together is vital and central to how I work. Our work is guided by you and we will work together in a collaborative way to help you to move forward. By building this relationship we can explore what is going on for you and work at your own pace.
My first session
Prior to the 1st session, I offer a 15-minute introductory session which can be carried out over the phone or online. Our 1st session together will allow us to meet, I will be able to share with you how my practice works and you will have the chance to ask any questions. In this session, we will also complete an assessment together where I can take some information about you and we can both decide if we can work together in the future. This session will last one hour and will be charged at the usual rate.
