About me and my therapy practice

I am Tash Glover, BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist (MBACP (Accred), member 403246) and NCPS member (NCS22-02212), offering clinical supervision for trainee and qualified counsellors from Phoenix Renewed in Wednesbury, with online supervision UK-wide.

My supervision is integrative and person-centred — collaborative and aligned with the BACP Ethical Framework. I offer support and appropriate challenge so you can reflect on client work safely, develop ethically, and grow in confidence.

Who I supervise

Trainee counsellors on placement or building hours, and qualified practitioners needing supervision for BACP, NCPS, or other requirements. Established practitioners welcome.

I supervise counsellors in private practice, education, and the voluntary sector, including those working with children, families, SEND, SEMH, or autism. I support your model rather than impose my own. I do not supervise current or former counselling clients.

What you can expect

Confidential space for anonymised case discussion; support with safeguarding, boundaries, and ethics; reflection on compassion fatigue and self-care.

My background

Clinical supervisor training completed. 25+ years in education as a therapeutic mentor, supporting staff, leaders, and families through safeguarding, bereavement, and the emotional load of caring professions. As a practising integrative counsellor, I understand holding difficult material over time.

Sessions and fees

60 minutes, monthly minimum; 90-minute sessions where required. In person at Wednesbury (WS10) or secure video call. Free initially — duration and any future fee confirmed when we speak. Indemnity insurance held.

Introductory call: 07359 082492 · phoenixrenewedcounselling.co.uk/clinical-supervision

My therapy practice

I also run Phoenix Renewed — integrative counselling in Wednesbury for adults and young people aged 10+, in person and online. Person-centred at heart, with CBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused tools when helpful.

Practice description

Phoenix Renewed Counselling Services is based at Tame Avenue, Wednesbury WS10 0RL, with good access from Walsall, West Bromwich, and the wider Black Country.

Supervision takes place in a calm, private, dedicated room with free parking nearby — a confidential space used exclusively for therapeutic and supervisory work.

I offer supervision in person in Wednesbury and online via secure video call across the UK. Online suits practitioners outside the Black Country or those working remotely with their own clients.

Session format

Sessions are typically 60 minutes. Ninety-minute sessions can be arranged where your membership body or caseload requires 1.5 hours in one sitting, in line with BACP guidance. Monthly as a minimum; fortnightly available for trainees or complex casework.

Getting started

Free introductory call (around 15 minutes): 07359 082492 or phoenixrenewedcounselling.co.uk/clinical-supervision. We discuss your training, caseload, and whether we are a good fit — no pressure to commit.

Your first supervision session agrees a contract, confidentiality boundaries, and how you will prepare anonymised case material. Please bring membership and insurance details if applicable. Trainees are encouraged to begin supervision before seeing clients where possible.

Fees

Supervision is free of charge initially. Duration and any future fee confirmed when we speak.

Professional standards

Professional indemnity insurance held. Work within the BACP Ethical Framework. Notes kept securely and in line with GDPR. I do not supervise current or former counselling clients.

The same Wednesbury room is also used for my private counselling practice — separate services with clear boundaries.

My first session

Before your first supervision session, we will usually have a free introductory call (around 15 minutes) by phone, text, or WhatsApp on 07359 082492. This is a chance to discuss your training stage or qualified status, your current caseload, what you need from supervision, and whether we feel like a good fit. There is no pressure to commit.

Your first supervision session

The first session focuses on establishing our working relationship and agreeing how supervision will run. We will:

- agree a supervision contract, including frequency, format, fees, and cancellation arrangements

- clarify confidentiality boundaries and what happens if concerns arise about client safety

- discuss how you will prepare and bring anonymised case material

- explore your current training or membership requirements (BACP, NCPS, or other)

- talk about your experience to date and what you hope to gain from supervision

Please bring your professional membership details and insurance information if applicable. It helps to come prepared with a case you would like to explore — notes anonymised in line with your agency or college requirements.

For trainee counsellors, it is good practice to begin supervision before starting client work where possible, so we can agree our contract and I can support you as you begin seeing clients.

After the first session, ongoing supervision becomes a regular space to reflect on your practice — ethically, safely, and with appropriate support and challenge. The fit between supervisor and supervisee matters; there is no obligation to continue after an introductory conversation.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a practitioner of person-centred therapy. Person-centred counselling is one of the humanistic modalities or approaches. A person-centred therapist believes that, given the right conditions, a person can reach their full potential and become their true self, which he termed ‘self-actualisation’.

To help you achieve self-actualisation, the person-centred therapist will offer:

  1. unconditional positive regard (UPR) – accepting and valuing you
  2. congruence - being honest and transparent in how they experience you and your world
  3. empathic understanding – seeing your viewpoint as if they were you

Based on my experience in education and work with families, it is clear that one of my strengths is my ability to come alongside families and help them work through difficulties to find a resolution. Through my years of experience, I have developed strong communication and interpersonal skills that allow me to build rapport with families and create a safe space for them to share their concerns. I may also have a talent for active listening, which enables me to understand the root causes of any issues and identify potential solutions that can work for everyone involved. Additionally, my extensive experience in education has given me a deep understanding of child development and family dynamics, which can be invaluable in helping families navigate challenging situations.

During our sessions I will help you to realise what resources and support are available to you that you can use to work through your own issues, build your self-confidence and appreciate that you always have options. I will treat you as the expert on yourself, as no-one else knows exactly what it’s like to be you.

I will not judge you, no matter what you bring to the session. This helps build a trustworthy relationship in which you can feel free and supported to disclose whatever is troubling you. Eventually it will lead you to discover your own abilities and autonomy, so that you can cope with current and future problems.

Practice description

Counselling/therapy can be useful for anyone who wants to explore the way they're thinking or feeling further, as well as for anyone experiencing a problem or issue they are keen to resolve.

Some of the issues we can work through within counselling/therapy include the following:

Addictions or substance abuse

Counselling/therapy aims to relieve psychological addiction by exploring the root cause while helping to develop new ways of thinking.

Bereavement

Some people benefit from speaking openly to a counsellor about their feelings to help ease the process and resolve any remaining issues they may have.

Bullying

Counselling can offer victims the chance to seek help from authorities (if appropriate) as well as address the psychological repercussions in a safe environment.

Mental health

Suffering from a mental health issue such as schizophrenia or depression can feel incredibly isolating. Counselling/therapy looks to discuss the feelings that arise in conjunction with these kinds of mental health issues, as well as overcome any personal challenges or frustrations.

Relationships

As someone with extensive experience working with families, I understand the importance of strong relationships within a family unit. Parent to child relationships are perhaps the most fundamental, and it's essential to cultivate trust, respect, and open communication. It's also crucial to support each other and show empathy, especially during difficult times.

Trauma

In a counselling session, trauma victims are encouraged to explore their feelings regarding the incident and look into how these could be resolved or changed.

Other issues

Feelings of stress, anxiety and low self-esteem are becoming all too common in today's society. Counselling/therapy can offer practical advice for overcoming these kinds of issues, as well as allowing you the space to vent your frustrations and feelings.

My first session

The first session, which could be in the form of a phone call or online session, will typically involve getting to know you a little, and giving you the chance to share some of your reasons for seeking therapy.
