About me and my therapy practice
I’m an integrative counsellor and therapeutic supervisor based in Plymouth, working face to face and online. Alongside private practice, I have experience in therapeutic leadership, safeguarding and psychologically informed work within education, which gives me a broad understanding of the different pressures helping professionals can carry.
My approach to supervision is collaborative, relational and grounded in the reality of the work. I see supervision as more than case discussion or checking that things are being done correctly. It is a space to slow things down, think openly and explore what may be happening beneath the surface.
We might look at client work, therapeutic relationships, ethical dilemmas, safeguarding, boundaries, professional development, your own responses, or the emotional impact the work may be having on you. I am also interested in the wider context around the work, including systems, identity, relationships and the pressures that can influence how we practise.
I do not see supervision as a relationship where I simply give answers. My role is to support your thinking, offer perspective, notice what might be getting missed and provide appropriate challenge when it is useful. I want the space to feel safe enough for you to bring uncertainty, mistakes, difficult feelings and the parts of the work that can be harder to say out loud.
My supervision is integrative and reflective, drawing on different perspectives depending on what you bring. I place a strong emphasis on the supervisory relationship itself and on helping you develop confidence in your own judgement rather than becoming dependent on someone else to tell you what to do.
Ultimately, I want supervision to feel useful, honest and human. A space where you can feel supported in the work, think more clearly and continue developing the practitioner you want to be.
Practice description
I offer collaborative, reflective supervision for counsellors, therapists and other helping professionals.
My approach is integrative and relational, with space to explore client work, therapeutic relationships, ethical and safeguarding issues, professional development and the emotional impact of the work.
I aim to create supervision that feels supportive, thoughtful and appropriately challenging, helping you develop confidence in your own judgement while maintaining safe, ethical and effective practice.
Supervision is available face to face in Plymouth and online.
My first session
Our first supervision session is a chance to get to know each other, talk about how you work and explore what you need from supervision.
We can look at your current practice, the kinds of clients or situations you are working with, any particular areas you want support with, and how you prefer to use the space.
I’ll also explain how I work as a supervisor so we can make sure the relationship feels collaborative, useful and the right fit for you.
There is no expectation that you arrive with everything prepared. We can start with what feels most relevant and build the supervision relationship from there.

About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Christian.
I’m an integrative counsellor based in Plymouth, working with adults face to face and online across the UK. I have a particular focus on men’s mental health and work with people experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, trauma, self-worth, anger, or simply a sense that something does not feel quite right.
A lot of the people I work with have spent a long time trying to manage things on their own. You might appear to be coping on the outside while underneath feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, frustrated or stuck.
My approach is straightforward, relational and human. Counselling with me is not about being analysed or told how you should live your life. We work together to understand what is happening, explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck and consider what meaningful change might look like in your everyday life.
I work integratively, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what you need rather than expecting you to fit into one particular model. Some sessions may involve exploring past experiences and emotions, while others may be more focused on what is happening in your life right now.
I believe insight is important, but understanding yourself is only part of the work. Therapy can also be about learning to respond differently, developing healthier relationships with yourself and others, and taking what you discover in the therapy room into real life.
You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about. Sometimes we start simply with the sense that something feels difficult, heavy or stuck and work from there.
Practice description
I offer counselling for adults face to face in Plymouth and online across the UK.
Sessions are available weekly or fortnightly and last 50 minutes. My work has a particular focus on men’s mental health, although I work with adults of all genders.
I aim to offer a space that feels grounded, collaborative and free from judgement, where we can make sense of what is happening and work towards change at a pace that feels right for you.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to begin understanding what has brought you to counselling and what you would like support with.
There is no expectation that you arrive with everything figured out. We can talk through what is happening, what you hope might feel different, and whether the way I work feels right for you.
If we decide to continue working together, we can then agree a regular weekly or fortnightly session, either face to face in Plymouth or online.
