About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP Accredited Integrative psychotherapist/counsellor, and clinical supervisor with 16 years’ experience supporting adults, children, and young people aged four and above. I offer warm, empathic, and relational therapy for those experiencing trauma, abuse, attachment difficulties, bereavement, loss, anxiety, depression, identity concerns, self-harm, spirituality, and harmful sexual behaviour. My specialist experience includes complex developmental trauma, looked-after and fostered children, therapeutic parenting, children presenting with harmful sexual behaviour (HSB) and end-of-life and palliative care.
I am completing training as a child and adolescent psychotherapist, continuing to develop my expertise in child and adolescent psychotherapy, trauma-informed practice, therapeutic parenting, and relational, humanistic, and play-based approaches.
My therapeutic practice is grounded in curiosity about the human psyche and a commitment to collaborative, relational work. I offer a safe, warm, and compassionate presence, creating space for clients to explore their experiences, find healing and support, and develop greater continuity between their past, present, and future. I would be honoured to accompany clients as they deepen their self-understanding and continue their journey towards personal growth.
Practice description
I work online and face to face. Face to Face sessions are limited to Friday afternoons at the moment.
My first session
My first session is an assessment session; we discuss your presenting issue and what you hope for from our work together. I take a detailed history of the issues you would like to work on, which includes a risk assessment.
This session is also a chemistry session - we can decide if we feel we are a good match and can work together.
If you are seeking therapy for a child or young person, the first session will be with the parent/carers to take a comprehensive history and understanding of the presenting issues and for me to get a better understanding of the therapeutic need for the child/young person.
For clinical supervision, please see my supervision profile.
