I am happy to support supervisees remotely at weekends and during most evenings (with the exception of Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings). I am available for in person work on weekdays with the exception of Wednesdays.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer a warm, grounded and supportive approach to supervision, creating a reflective space where counsellors can feel both encouraged and appropriately challenged in their professional development. I am a friendly and down to earth person, with extensive experience of supervising others across a variety of settings, and I bring this breadth of experience into a supervision practice that is thoughtful, collaborative and rooted in respect.

I enjoy working with both experienced and trainee counsellors and offer trainee and in counsellors in their first year of practice a discounted rate.

Practice description

A central focus of my supervision practice is supporting counsellors to work ethically, safely and competently, ensuring that their work remains compliant with professional standards, organisational requirements and relevant safeguarding responsibilities. I place importance on helping supervisees explore risk, boundaries, confidentiality, record keeping, contracting and professional accountability in a way that strengthens confidence and protects clients. I have many years experience as a safeguarding lead in education and and have considerable knowledge in the design and implementation of safety plans.

I utilise specific aspects of Holloways and the Seven Eyed Model of supervision to ensure that the supervision on offer is effective and helps provide supervisees with clear guidance and support.

I am qualified in both person centred and CBT modalities of counselling. I am also qualified in Health Education at Post Graduate level. I have a first degree in Biology and I am interested in how psychological and physiological factors influence conditions such as trauma, anxiety and depression.

Alongside my supervision experience, my Master’s dissertation in mentoring and coaching have deepened my understanding of how effective supervision can enable counsellors to become reflective practitioners so they best meet the needs of their clients.

My first session

I offer a free introductory phone call ( 45 minutes) for all potential supervisees to establish whether we would feel comfortable working with each other. This allows us to see whether I could offer the tailored support you require to support your practice.
