Availability
I currently have availability for clinical supervision. I offer supervision online and in-person in the Camberley and Frimley areas. My diary is flexible where possible, and I aim to accommodate supervisees around clinical commitments.
If you contact me, please include: your professional role/training stage, client group/setting, preferred frequency (e.g., fortnightly/monthly), and a few preferred days/times. I aim to respond to enquiries within 24 hours on working days.
Out of office
I do not routinely monitor messages outside working hours, at weekends, or on bank holidays. Supervision is not an emergency service. If you have an urgent safeguarding concern, please follow your organisation’s safeguarding procedures and contact the relevant services immediately. In an emergency, call 999; for urgent NHS support, contact NHS 111 or your local Crisis Team.
About me and my therapy practice
I’m Robert Karami (MBACP), an integrative therapist and clinical supervisor. I provide supervision that is thoughtful, structured and relational, with a focus on strengthening your clinical judgement, ethical decision-making and confidence in the room. I aim to balance support with appropriate challenge, helping you reflect on process, manage complexity, and develop your own therapeutic style.
My training includes a DipHE in Counselling (Middlesex University, London), an MA in Clinical Psychology (Urmia University, Iran), and a Diploma in Counselling Supervision. I am currently studying for a Master’s Degree in Therapeutic Counselling and Psychotherapy. I practise in line with the BACP Ethical Framework, including regular supervision and continuing professional development.
Practice description
At Better Me Counselling & Psychotherapy, I offer clinical supervision for trainees and qualified counsellors/psychotherapists (private practice, placement and organisational settings). Supervision sessions are practical and reflective, typically focusing on case discussion and formulation, the therapeutic relationship, boundaries and endings, working with difference, risk and safeguarding, and the impact of the work on you as a practitioner.
Supervision is available online and in-person in the Camberley and Frimley areas, and can be offered in English or Persian (Farsi).
My first session
In our first supervision session, we will agree on a clear contract and make sure we are a good fit to work together. We’ll cover your current role/training stage, client group and setting, supervision requirements (including placement/agency expectations), and what you want from supervision.
We will also discuss practicalities such as frequency and length of sessions, confidentiality, note-keeping, boundaries, and how we will manage risk and safeguarding (including what to do if an urgent concern arises between sessions). If helpful, we can begin with a current case to understand your clinical style and priorities.
I may ask you to complete a brief pre-supervision form to support contracting and ensure expectations are clear from the outset.

About me and my therapy practice
I’m Robert Karami (MBACP), an integrative therapist at Better Me Counselling & Psychotherapy. I offer a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly, feel understood, and begin to make sense of what you’re going through.
My approach is integrative, which means I tailor therapy to you rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. We will clarify what you want from counselling, agree priorities, and work at a pace that feels safe and sustainable. Depending on your needs, our work may include understanding unhelpful patterns, strengthening emotional regulation, improving relationships, and building practical strategies for everyday life.
I work with people experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood, trauma, grief and loss, the impact of past experiences, relationship difficulties, self-esteem concerns, and life transitions. I also work with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and am particularly attuned to themes of identity, belonging, and cross-cultural or intergenerational family dynamics. I offer therapy in English and Persian (Farsi).
I hold a Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE) in Counselling from Middlesex University, London, and an MA in Clinical Psychology from Urmia University (Iran). I am currently studying for a Master’s Degree in Therapeutic Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework, including engaging in regular clinical supervision as part of professional practice.
I offer sessions online and in-person in the Camberley and Frimley areas, and I aim to respond to enquiries within 24 hours on working days.
Practice description
Better Me Counselling & Psychotherapy offers a calm, professional space for adults who want support with emotional well-being, relationships, and personal growth. I provide integrative therapy, tailoring the work to your needs and goals rather than using a one-size-fits-all model.
What sessions are like:
Our first meeting is an opportunity to understand what brings you to therapy, what you are hoping for, and whether I am the right therapist for you. We will agree how we will work together, including practical arrangements and boundaries. Ongoing sessions offer a consistent space to explore thoughts and feelings, develop insight, and build tools that support change in everyday life.
How I work:
I combine compassionate listening with gentle challenge when helpful. Some clients prefer practical strategies; others need space to process deeper experiences. We can work in either way, or a blend of both, always at a pace that feels manageable and safe.
Ways to meet:
Sessions are available online and in-person in the Camberley and Frimley areas. I work in English and Persian (Farsi) and aim to respond to enquiries within 24 hours on working days.
If you are considering counselling, you are welcome to contact me with a brief outline of what you are looking for and your preferred times, and we can arrange an initial appointment.
My first session
Before booking, I offer a free 15-minute initial phone call. This is a brief, informal assessment where you can tell me what has brought you to therapy, ask any questions, and get a sense of whether I am the right therapist for you. We will also consider practicalities such as availability, whether you prefer online or in-person sessions (Camberley/Frimley), and what you are hoping for from counselling.
If we decide to proceed, your first full session is 50 minutes. In this session we will explore your current difficulties in more detail, clarify your goals, and begin to agree a focus for our work. I will also explain how I work, discuss confidentiality and boundaries, and check any relevant background (including what support you have in place). We will move at a pace that feels safe and manageable, and you are always in control of what you choose to share.
At the end of the session we will agree next steps, including whether you would like to continue and how often to meet.
