About me and my therapy practice
I have been a qualified Clinical Supervisor since 2018, providing both individual and group supervision to trainee and qualified counsellors.
Just as every client is unique, I believe every supervisee brings different needs, strengths, and learning goals to supervision. My aim is to offer a safe, non-judgemental, collaborative, and creative space where you can reflect on your client work, explore your responses to the therapeutic process, and develop your practice with confidence and curiosity.
My supervisory approach is informed by the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision, which encourages exploration of all aspects of the therapeutic system. Together, we consider the client's world, the therapeutic relationship, the wider organisational context, your experience as the practitioner, and my own responses within supervision. This holistic perspective helps generate deeper understanding and more effective ways of supporting your clients.
Following qualification, I continued supervising at Mind BLMK while establishing my own independent supervision practice, supporting both trainee and qualified counsellors. The supervisees I have worked with include private practitioners, clinical managers, school-based counsellors, and therapists working within charitable and community organisations.
Alongside my independent practice and teaching roles, I currently provide individual and group supervision to paid and volunteer counsellors working with children, young people, and adults. Areas of client presentation include domestic abuse, sexual violence, asylum and migration-related experiences, autism, anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, relationship difficulties, bereavement, homelessness, and complex trauma, among others.
Whatever stage of your professional journey you are at, my intention is to provide supervision that is supportive, reflective, ethically grounded, and tailored to your individual needs, enabling both you and your clients to thrive.
Practice description
I offer a space where client work can be explored safely and without judgment and support you to work in a way that fits your voice.
My first session
During our first session, we will explore any previous experiences you have had of supervision, including what has been helpful and what may have felt less useful. We will discuss your expectations, hopes, and any concerns you may have, while also considering your current professional needs. Practice description
As a qualified therapist working with adults, children, young people, and families, I am fully insured, DBS-checked, and a registered member of my professional body. I am also a trainer and clinical supervisor, with over 13 years of experience supporting individuals and professionals across a range of settings.
Throughout my career, I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, groups, qualified counsellors, and trainee counsellors within training organisations, mental health charities, schools, and private practice.
Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, especially when you are already struggling and simply want support. The relationship between client and therapist is one of the most important factors in successful therapy, which is why I offer a free 30-minute consultation. This gives us an opportunity to discuss what is bringing you to therapy, explore your needs, and decide together whether I am the right fit for you.
My first session
If we decide to work together, I will invite you to a one-hour assessment session. During this session, I will explore in more detail what has brought you to therapy, how your difficulties are affecting your day-to-day life, and gather some personal history. This helps me develop a deeper understanding of your experiences and consider how I can best support you moving forward.
We will also have the opportunity to discuss my therapeutic approach in more depth, as well as explore any hopes, expectations, questions, or apprehensions you may have about the therapeutic process. My aim is to ensure that you feel informed, comfortable, and supported as we begin our work together.
