About me and my therapy practice
Advanced Specialist Diploma in Supervision L6
An integrative counsellor drawing on transpersonal; psychodynamic & person centred modalities.
As with clients; I believe building solid, trusting and honest relationships with supervisees is the foundation of effective supervision. I draw on Hawkins & Shohet's 7 eyed model which enables in depth reflection that fosters confidence and growth in your practice.
Practice description
You are looking for a supervisor who understands that your work draws on different modalities for example person-centred; psychodynamic or transpersonal, but like me your practice has evolved with experience, Of course theoretical models underpin therapy (the relational; attachment and somatic experience often inform me) however you want supervision to talk about what it really feels like to work with your clients.. I belive its okay to say we don't warm to someone ; we can judge; but supervision is where we explore those thoughts and feelings.
You maybe starting or establised in private practice; working in charity or healthcare settings looking for a supervisor who has in depth experience of change; loss and grief which underpins so many life experinces; who is trauma and neurodiverse informed and LGBTQ+ friendly.
Our supervison starts with asking how things are in your life, Sessions are guided by you; perhaps exploring one client in depth; discussing your caseload in a broader sense; any organisational issues; the personal impact of your role and of course ethical challenges and areas for development are ongoing. I check how our supervisiory relationship is going as honesty, and openess have been invaluable foundations of my own supervision.
I value authenticity; humour and being down to earth in both my personal and professional life. I'm focusing on my overall wellbeing; and being creative having recently finished my hospice role.

About me and my therapy practice
Many of us struggle with ourselves or life experiences. It can feel a huge step to reach out for help and takes courage to open up about issues that cause pain and difficulties. I believe that having the space to explore your concerns and feelings, no matter what they are, can bring the opportunity to heal and make the changes you wish for.
Below is a brief summary of my counselling experience.
3 years experience as a trainee and qualified counsellor in an agency for teenagers and young people working with a range of issues including low self esteem; anger management; sexual abuse; depression and family relationships.
14 years specialist experience as a family support and bereavement counsellor in hospice settings. Client work involved working with loss; anticipatory grief; spiritual and existential struggle; facing death and complex bereavement. Other issues can arise from a loss so I have also worked with suicidal ideation; childhood loss and abuse; low self-esteem; adjustment difficulties; identity ; coping style and complex family relationships.
Through supervision and staff debrief I have an insight and understanding of the challenges faced by those working in the caring professions.
I have experience in working short term with clients via Employee Assistance Programmes.
A wellbeing advisor for clients experiencing mental health crisis for 14 months.
One years experience of working for a rape and sexual abuse service.
LGBTQ+ friendly

I also offer online counselling. ( online platform and email)
I'm happy for you to contact me by telephone for an initial conversation about the issues you'd like to bring to counselling.
Practice description
It’s important to me that therapy creates an open, honest and supportive relationship with clients. There will be timely gentle challenge, space for humour; working together to face difficulties and feel empowered to live your life as authentically and fulfilled as possible.
My first session
In your first session I will invite you to talk through your reasons for attending counselling. This will include details of your current life circumstances as well as some details of your family background and history.
