I have availability for new supervisees either face to face from my therapy room in Leeds city centre or online via Zoom.

I am an experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist and a qualified Clinical Supervisor.

I have more than 14 years experience working in a variety of therapy roles. I have worked in the NHS in Primary Care and IAPT, as a parent counsellor in a community setting, as well as private practice offering time limited and open ended counselling. I work with clients with a broad range of presentations, and place a strong emphasis on the importance of the therapeutic relationship in my way of working.

I was an associate lecturer on a BACP accredited counselling training programme helping students to develop their counselling skills and self awareness. 

I aim to provide therapists with a reflective and containing space to bring all aspects of their clinical practice in order to work as effectively, safely and ethically as possible with clients.

I envisage my supervisory role as holding a space in which you, the therapist, can feel supported, develop and ultimately flourish as a practitioner. I aim to gently challenge when appropriate as well as enable you to be reflective and curious about your practice and the impact of your work on you and your clients. As with my client work I believe it is the relationship which enables this to happen.

I offer supervision to therapists working with adults. I work to the BACP Ethical Framework.

I offer supervision to trainees and qualified therapists in person and online. 

I also work with organisations providing supervision to people employed in helping, supporting or safeguarding roles, both one to one and in groups. 

I work Monday to Thursday In-Person and Online and offer daytime appointments up until 5pm.

I would like to help you. I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and have worked in a number of settings including the NHS. I am accredited by the BACP,  so you know I have achieved high standards in my work as an independent, ethical and competent therapist. My aim when working with clients is to offer a confidential, safe and supportive space where together we can begin to make sense of your difficulties and help you to understand yourself better. This is free. If you decide to go ahead therapy takes place on a weekly basis. 

How I can help

Sometimes we can feel very stuck, either in our relationships or with particular emotional problems or painful life events and find it hard to know how to move through these difficult times.

My aim when working with you is to offer a safe and supportive space where together we can begin to make sense of your thoughts and feelings and help you to understand yourself better.

Feeling heard, deeply understood and accepted can help you to explore your feelings more fully and enable you to think about yourself in ways that you have not been able to consider before, for example, learning how to become more self-compassionate. 

As a result, it is possible for you to feel like you have greater clarity, more choices and can change old ways of being that may have led to you feeling anxious, down or depressed. In turn this can lead to more satisfying relationships and ways of living.

You can contact me by email or phone to arrange an initial appointment. This may be face to face or Online via Zoom. Sessions are 50 minutes long and generally take place at the same time each week.  The initial appointment is an opportunity for me to find out about your difficulties and how I might help you. It also gives you the opportunity to see if you feel comfortable working with me. We can discuss the best way forward, for example whether it might be helpful to find a focus for the work or whether the work will be more open ended.

I work with people face to face and also online. At our initial appointment we would discuss the number of sessions that we might meet. We can review this on a regular basis, according to your needs.
