About me and my therapy practice

As a Supervisor I believe supervision should offer an enriching and stimulating experience, with creative exploration, where knowledge and understanding are shared in a collaborative manner.

I aim to offer a supportive and safe environment, be open and honest in an encouraging way and be proactive in providing insight.

My theoretical approach to supervision is guided by the framework of Hawkins and Shohet's seven eyed model, a reflective and relational approach, workable with any counselling or psychoanalytical modality.

At present, alongside private practice I supervise trainee therapists at a large London agency and an entity where staff are working with young people, offering both group and one to one supervision.

I have created an affordable counselling service at two Children's Centres and a Mental Health Trust. Therefore, can help with the setting up of such projects.

For the past twenty-five years I have worked in either education or families and children's social care, where I have gained experience which enhances the work

I offer supervision for work with individuals, couples, families and young people, for both experienced and trainee counsellors.

Supervision is available at a cost of £55 per hour, on a sliding scale for student counsellors and newly qualified practitioners setting up their own practice.

Twice monthly (45 mins) in line with BACP requirements of 1.5 h monthly supervision, is available if preferred.

About me and my therapy practice

Offering time for you, warmth and many years experience working with issues such as complex PTSD, sexual, emotional and physical abuse. domestic violence, relationships and family dynamics, boarding school syndrome, work related stress, depression and anxiety, low self-esteem, self-harm bereavement and loss and psychosomatic illness and pain.

I work with adults, couples young people and families.  I work collaboratively with you as the client, where I will be alongside you in your journey, when together we can explore the issues that have bought you to therapy.  If it's an immediate crisis or and long term struggle, or if you are just finding it difficult to move forward.

As a practitioner I work within the framework of the psychodynamic approach to counselling, which addresses looking at those deep rooted issues, that may be influencing how you respond to life today.  Whilst, blending other techniques such as CBT, Solution focused therapy or using a more creative approach such as, sand tray work.  This allows the flexibility to respond sensitively to each client's unique set of circumstances and experiences.

At the heart of our work together is the therapeutic alliance, the relationship that forms between us, so that we can explore together those issues and difficulties that present themselves and challenges in life.  Helping your development and personal growth, feel empowered and more robust, with stronger emotional resilience and self-worth.

I have a BA Hons in Integrative Counselling, a HE Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and I am a qualified Clinical Supervisor.

I have over twenty five years experience of working in education, including SEN and children's and families social care.

I  continue to regularly attend CPD workshops and seminars to enhance practice and knowledge and believe, we never stop learning.

Practice description

I work face to face with clients at my practice room situated in the picturesque village of Brockham.  Or offer sessions on line usually via zoom, or by telephone which can work well, as an alternative if clients are unable to travel.

Family therapy £80 for 1 hour 15 mins
