Practice description

My approach to supervision is grounded in the ethical principles of the BACP Ethical Framework and the HCPC Standards of Proficiency for Practitioner Psychologists. Alongside this, I place great importance on creating a supervisory relationship that feels safe, respectful, and genuinely collaborative.

I offer both individual and group supervision, with sessions shaped around your needs, preferences, and professional goals. I work pluralistically, recognising that there is no single “right” way to practice or to grow. Instead, I draw on a range of evidence-based and practice-based approaches to support you in developing a way of working that feels authentic and effective for you.

I see supervision as both an art and a science. My intention is to honour the uniqueness you bring, whether as an individual or within a group, while also offering thoughtful challenge, reflection, and support. I aim to provide a space where you can explore all aspects of your work openly, including the more complex or uncertain areas, without fear of judgement.

At the heart of my work is a commitment to building a reflective relationship that is supportive, restorative, and growth-oriented. I pay close attention to how we communicate with one another, and we will work together to understand and learn from processes such as transference, counter-transference, and any misunderstandings that may arise.

Working with me, you can expect:

• A clear and transparent contracting process

• Shared understanding of our individual and collective responsibilities

• Regular opportunities to review and shape the supervision process

• Careful attention to ethical, moral, and legal considerations

Above all, I aim to offer a space where you feel heard, valued, and supported in developing your practice with confidence and integrity.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity to begin building a safe and supportive supervisory relationship. We’ll start by reviewing the supervision contract together, ensuring everything is clear, transparent, and feels right for you. This includes discussing roles, responsibilities, boundaries, and any practical “housekeeping” so you know what to expect from our work together.

We’ll also take time to explore any practical or personal considerations around working online, so that you feel as comfortable and supported as possible in the space.

For group supervision, we will gently orient ourselves to how the group will work in practice, including structure, expectations, and shared agreements. Together, we will begin to shape a welcoming, reflective, and inclusive environment, one where all members feel able to contribute, think openly, and learn from one another.

Above all, the first session is a chance for you to ask questions, share what you’re hoping for from supervision, and begin to establish a way of working that feels collaborative, respectful, and attuned to your needs.

Hi, I’m Chris, a Counselling Psychologist who is committed to supporting adults and couples to feel calmer, more confident, and better connected. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, isolated, or unsure where to turn next, you’re certainly not alone. Many of the clients I work with are navigating anxiety, low mood, grief, trauma, and relational difficulties.

My practice is collaborative, compassionate, and shaped around your needs and wants, and I will draw upon my training in Humanistic Therapies, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapies, and EMDR therapy to help you achieve your goals and aims.

Practice description

Over the past 17 years, I’ve supported hundreds of clients to make meaningful and sustainable life changes.

My practice philosophy is deeply rooted in relational and evidence-informed practice, and I can offer you a therapeutic relationship that is founded on respected, compassion and curiosity.

We will work together to identify your needs, wants, challenges and goals and then mutually agree upon which therapeutic approach will best meet your current needs.

My practices are:

• Affirming and Personalised to you.

• Empowering and Collaborative.

• Flexible and Inclusive.

• Trauma-informed and culturally aware.

During the sessions we will work at your pace, focus on your needs, and regularly review how the therapy is for you.

I can offer you brief episodes of therapy (6 - 20 sessions), or open ended therapy if preferred.

My first session

The first session offers us an opportunity to get to know each other. We will explore the concerns and challenges that have brought you to therapy, and explore your goals and aims.

We will also focus on your strengths, interests, and preferences, so that therapy is specifically tailored to you.

Individual Therapy

We will explore the experiences that are impacting your functioning, well-being, and distress. If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low in mood, burnt out, disconnected or traumatized, we will gently unpack what is occurring for you at a pace that meets your identified needs.

If helpful, we can also discuss what is working well for you, and explore how you can build upon these strengths and resources to create a greater and lasting sense of calm, connection and balance.

Couples Therapy

Offers a collaborative therapeutic relationship where both partners will be heard, validated, and respected. Whatever it is that you are facing, we will work together to build trust, insight and understanding. So that you can move beyond your current challenges.

Couples sessions are most frequently held together, but if required each individual partner may be seen separately when it is beneficial to the therapeutic process. All sessions are build on a mutual foundation of trust, curiosity, and respect.

During sessions

You are welcome to bring items of comfort, move in ways that support your needs, and to adjust the online space so that it accommodates your needs.
