About me and my therapy practice

I’m an HCPC Registered Counselling Psychologist and Specialist Accredited BACP Supervisor, who has been practicing clinical supervision (one to one and group) for 13 years.

My aim is always to co-create a supervisory space where you are supported, empowered, and contained in your practice. My approach is relaxed, congruent, and collaborative.

In this supervisory space you can:

• Openly share without judgement

• Explore your pressing concerns

• Celebrate what’s going well

• Build on your resilience and self-care

• Develop your voice, identity, and practice

Whether you're currently in training, newly qualified, or have many years experience, you will find this space empowering. Here there is no pressure to “get it right." Rather, we can jointly reflect, clarify, and arrive at new insights that are meaningful for your clients and practice.

Modes of supervision available:

Live (synchronous)

• Video

• Audio-only

• Instant messaging

Asynchronous:

• One-to-one email supervision

If you’re seeking a relationship that is empowering, insightful, and ethically informed I may be a good fit for you.

If you have any questions, or would like a free 15 minute consultation, please feel free to get in touch.

Practice description

My approach is grounded in the ethical principles and values of the BACP and HCPC standards of proficiency. I offer a reflective relationship that is supportive, restorative, and genuinely collaborative.

Our sessions (individual or group) are guided by your needs, preferences, and wants. And I will pay close attention to our communication style so that we can jointly learn from and work with any potential of transference, counter-transference, or misunderstanding.

 I offer

• A clear and transparent contracting process

• Clear guidance on our individual and collective responsibilities

• Regular opportunities to review the supervision process

• Careful attention to all ethical, moral, and legal considerations

My first session

In our first session, we’ll generally review the supervision contract in the first instance and discuss general housekeeping. We can also explore any practical concerns you may have about working online.

In group supervision, we will take time to go through the practicalities of group supervision, and then proceed to collaboratively shaping a welcoming, reflective, and inclusive space for all members of the group.

About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Chris, a Counselling Psychologist who is committed to supporting adults and couples to feel calmer, more confident, and better connected. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, isolated, or unsure where to turn next, you’re certainly not alone. Many of the clients I work with are navigating anxiety, low mood, grief, trauma, and relational difficulties.

My practice is collaborative, compassionate, and shaped around your needs and wants, and I will draw upon my training in Humanistic Therapies, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapies, and EMDR therapy to help you achieve your goals and aims.

I appreciate that taking the first step toward positive change can often feel daunting. However, if you’re here, it’s likely that a part of you is already seeking something different, and let’s build on that energy together.

If you have any questions, or would like to book a free 15-minute consultation, please do contact me.

Practice description

Over the past 17 years, I’ve supported hundreds of clients to make meaningful and sustainable life changes.

My practice philosophy is deeply rooted in relational and evidence-informed practice, and I can offer you a therapeutic relationship that is founded on respected, compassion and curiosity.

We will work together to identify your needs, wants, challenges and goals and then mutually agree upon which therapeutic approach will best meet your current needs.

My practices are:

• Affirming and Personalised to you.

• Empowering and Collaborative.

• Flexible and Inclusive.

• Trauma-informed and culturally aware.

During the sessions we will work at your pace, focus on your needs, and regularly review how the therapy is for you.

I can offer you brief episodes of therapy (6 - 20 sessions), or open ended therapy if preferred.

My first session

The first session offers us an opportunity to get to know each other. We will explore the concerns and challenges that have brought you to therapy, and explore your goals and aims.

We will also focus on your strengths, interests, and preferences, so that therapy is specifically tailored to you.

Individual Therapy

We will explore the experiences that are impacting your functioning, well-being, and distress. If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low in mood, burnt out, disconnected or traumatized, we will gently unpack what is occurring for you at a pace that meets your identified needs.

If helpful, we can also discuss what is working well for you, and explore how you can build upon these strengths and resources to create a greater and lasting sense of calm, connection and balance.

Couples Therapy

Offers a collaborative therapeutic relationship where both partners will be heard, validated, and respected. Whatever it is that you are facing, we will work together to build trust, insight and understanding. So that you can move beyond your current challenges.

Couples sessions are most frequently held together, but if required each individual partner may be seen separately when it is beneficial to the therapeutic process. All sessions are build on a mutual foundation of trust, curiosity, and respect.

During sessions

You are welcome to bring items of comfort, move in ways that support your needs, and to adjust the online space so that it accommodates your needs.
