About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counselling supervisor working privately as a counsellor and psychotherapist. I have an Advanced Diploma in Clinical and Counselling Supervision (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society: Accredited) with experience of working with trainees, qualified counsellors, supervisors and others working in clinical professions.

I utilize a range of modalities and supervisory approaches, depending on the ethical and therapeutic problems or matters raised. I encourage supervisees to be aware of the context and dynamics involved in many different systems and in the agencies or organizations in which they work; and where their clients attend for counselling. I believe this encourages a depth to the work which is so important, this supports a reflective and explorative practice. This includes the normative, informative and restorative aspects, which I believe importantly adds depth and interest to the work.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced counsellor, psychotherapist, mentor, clinical and counselling supervisor (MBACP: Registered and Accredited). I have a background in Teaching and Education (Cert.Ed.; B.Ed. (Hons.) with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology (MSc).

I am an Accredited and Approved Counselling (NCPS) Supervisor, Counsellor, and Psychotherapist (MBACP: Registered and Accredited).

I enjoy supervision with qualified supervisors, counsellors and trainees, where we can openly and honestly discuss any matters that can impact on the work we encounter. We will discuss client risk and ethical dilemmas that can affect client relationships and counselling practice. It is important to focus on the self through relational supervision and to discuss various methodologies and theories which help to develop the therapy work.

I am also a trained Relationship and Couple Therapist (COSRT) and understand how difficult the work may be when working with sensitive issues and partnership problems. I aim to have an appreciation of the deeper issues which may underlie the problems, along with gaining a greater awareness of practical interventions which can facilitate and help break any unhelpful patterns of behaviour.

Practice description

Sometimes in supervision you may need the support and mentoring from an experienced and qualified therapist (BACP: Level B/Counselling Supervisor: Level 7) to provide a clear focus on what is important. We discuss together in a relaxed and confidential environment with the aim to highlight better options and a clear direction to consider for therapy.

I work online in the UK and in-person (Face to Face), offering regular, monthly (90 minute) sessions. However, if any matter between sessions is urgent, then I will aim to answer your phone or email query as soon as possible.
