About me and my therapy practice
Hello,
I am a therapist, counselling tutor and supervisor with a lot of experience working with children and young people. I’ve worked in many different school and charity settings and taught on both CYP and adult counselling programmes. My approach is integrative (person centred, psychodynamic, trauma focused CBT, Gestalt) and based in play and creativity.
I enjoy working with therapists at all levels of experience, but if you are in training, newly qualified, or looking for someone to help you develop skills working with young people, creative methods, or working with trauma, then we might be a particularly good fit.
I’ve listed my qualifications below, but free to get in touch and ask me any questions about my training or experience.
Training:
PgDip in Counselling Children in Schools (Place2Be and University of East London)
Masters in Counselling Children in Schools (Place2Be and University of East London)*
Diploma in Clinical Supervision (Connexus Institute)
Violet Oaklander Intensive
Children’s Accelerated Trauma Technique (CATT)
Trauma-focused CBT
Autism Awareness
*for my Masters research, I interviewed adults who had school counselling when they were younger. My focus was on exploring best practice and long-term outcomes.
Work Experience:
I qualified in 2013 and have worked in many types of schools, private practice, and charities. I currently work for The Green House in Bristol, supporting families who have been through sexual abuse.
I have worked as a clinical supervisor since 2018, working mostly online with a wide range of therapists and school staff across the country.
I have 6 years’ experience as a counselling trainer, supporting students from Level 2 through to PgDip on both adult and CYP trainings.
Practice description
I enjoy the wide range of topics that come up in supervision. From safeguarding and inclusive practice to spirituality and career development....it's all part of it. My aim is to reflect with you to move towards your goals and best practice. I am a naturally encouraging and supportive supervisor and take pride in the achievements and efforts of my supervisees
I am always happy to share ideas and helpful ways of working and support supervisees to work actively with the Ethical Framework .
I work online, or in person in Redfield, Bristol (this costs an extra £5 an hour).
