About me and my therapy practice

I am interested in helping you make sense of yourself. You may know that you want a different kind of relationship, understand that your anxiety isn't always rational, or recognise that you're particularly hard on yourself — and yet find yourself doing the same things anyway. I think these contradictions are often where therapy becomes most relevant and helpful. Rather than simply trying to get rid of a symptom, we can become curious about what it might be telling us.

With over 20 years' experience, I can help you understand the underlying patterns that shape how you think, feel and relate to yourself and others.

Many people come to therapy feeling stuck or struggling in ways they don't fully understand. Sometimes old ways of coping no longer seem to work, or you may find yourself reacting in ways that don't quite make sense to you. Therapy offers a space to explore these experiences with curiosity and without judgement.

Together, we can begin to understand your thoughts, feelings, relationships and recurring patterns, and how these may have developed over time. Developing this understanding can open up new ways of thinking and relating, making it possible to feel less stuck and have greater freedom in how you respond to yourself and others.

You may be experiencing anxiety, depression or low self-esteem, struggling in your relationships, or finding it difficult to understand or express your emotions. You may feel dissatisfied with your life, be going through a period of change, loss, or feel overwhelmed by work or other pressures.

I also have experience working with people exploring questions around gender, sexuality and identity. You may be simply wanting to understand yourself more fully. I offer a space where all this can be explored in your own way, without assumptions or expectations.

Whatever has brought you to therapy, we can work together to develop a deeper understanding of what is going on and what might help you move forward.

Practice description

My Approach

I work psychodynamically, exploring how past experiences can shape the way we think, feel and relate to ourselves and others in the present.

Therapy involves becoming curious about the patterns that may be underlying your difficulties and making sense of experiences that can otherwise feel confusing or difficult to change. This deeper understanding can help you feel less stuck and create lasting change.

I offer both short-term, focused therapy, usually 6–10 sessions, and longer-term, open-ended psychotherapy. In an initial consultation, we can think together about what you are looking for and whether therapy, and the way I work, feels right for you.

About me and my therapy practice

I have been providing supervision since 2011, following completion of my Diploma in Supervision at the Society of Analytical Psychology. Since then, I have supervised psychotherapists, counsellors and trainees at different stages of their professional development.

My supervision practice is grounded in psychodynamic thinking. I work with practitioners who are interested in exploring the deeper dynamics within their client work, including unconscious processes, relational patterns and the emotional experiences that emerge within the therapeutic relationship.

I value working collaboratively with supervisees, creating a reflective space where we can think together about their clinical work. Through this process, we explore the underlying dynamics of the client's experience, the therapist's responses, and the relationship between them. My aim is to support supervisees in developing their clinical understanding, confidence and capacity for thoughtful therapeutic work.

I believe supervision is not only about the clients we work with, but also about the therapist who is holding that work. Therapists bring their whole selves into the consulting room, and sometimes personal circumstances, life events and challenges inevitably impact our capacity to work. I aim to provide a supportive and thoughtful space where these experiences can also be acknowledged and explored alongside the clinical material.

Supervision can offer a place to think about both the professional and personal realities of being a therapist — supporting practitioners through moments of uncertainty, change or difficulty, as well as celebrating growth, development and increasing confidence in their work.

I currently provide supervision to psychotherapists and counsellors in my private practice.

My wider supervision experience has included running weekly supervision groups for psychotherapists in training, and supervising at a Bereavement Centre.
