About me and my therapy practice
I listen to the people who come to talk to me. They tell me about the things that really bother them. I then support them in working towards a way of accepting reality, so that they are free to make choices and to do what they are capable of doing to make their lives more creative and enjoyable.
I see my clients in person or online - and sometimes we do a mixture of online and in person sessions.
I work in the short term (3 months), medium term (6 to 12 months), and longer term (1, 2, or 3+ years.)
I see people for one 50 minute therapy session per week, on the same day and at the same time each week.
My first session
I prefer that people contact me via email, first. I then suggest that we exchange telephone numbers, in order to schedule a phone call. During that phone call we can get to know one another a little bit. This free phone call (about 15 to 20 minutes long) helps me to understand how I might be able to help and support the person more effectively. It also gives the person a chance to ask me questions. During the phone call we discuss my fee.
If we feel comfortable with each other after the phone call, we schedule an initial 50 minute therapy session, either in person or online. I charge my standard fee for that initial session. (There is no obligation at the end of the free call to do an initial session. And there is no obligation at the end of the initial therapy session to do more sessions.)
If we both feel comfortable after the initial session, we schedule regular, weekly therapy sessions. We consider what issues we will work on and how long we will work together - we make a general plan, which we will review together over time.
In respect of payment - I ask people to pay me weekly, by bank transfer, on the day of their therapy session.
