About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP Accredited Person-Centred Psychotherapist, qualified at Master’s Level with 20+ years’ experience of working with adults, adolescents, individuals and couples.

I offer a warm, non-judgemental and supportive space where clients can explore difficulties at their own pace and feel genuinely heard.

As already stated, my primary approach is person-centred. I am however also trained in Counselling for Depression, Couple Therapy for Depression, EMDR and CBT. While CBT may occasionally inform specific elements of work, it does not significantly inform my way of being.

The therapy is tailored to each client’s needs, rather than a fixed model.

I work with trauma, childhood (CSA) and relationship issues, cultural difference, anxiety and depression.

Therapy can be short or long-term, Face to Face, On-line or occasionally telephone.

I am also a qualified Life Skills Coach, Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and have a MBA, MA Education and a wide range of HR, Training and Coaching qualifications. Experience of working in these fields sometimes informs my work.

Practice description

I aim to provide a safe space where individuals can feel heard.

I recognise trust takes time to grow and allow for this.

I will strive to see things through your eyes, to value you and your way of being and be as open and honest as I can be, with regard to what I am experiencing. To offer rather than impose what I experience.

I recognise we can all carry aspects from our childhood with us and sometimes may hold these issues out of our awareness. I may share what I experience in this respect. Inner Child work often informs my way of being.

The best way of finding out about my practice is to have a free introductory session.

My first session

I believe finding a therapist you can feel comfortable with is really important.

The first session with me is therefore not chargeable.

I see it an opportunity for us to find a little about each other and for us to decide if we feel there is a fit; that we both feel we could work together. Without this the therapy just may not work.

I don't ask you to fill any forms; just tell me a little about yourself and a little about what help you want. You can tell me as little as much as you like.

I will share a little about my background and try to answer any questions you may have.

You can then reflect on the session and get back to me so say if you wish to see me again.

About me and my therapy practice

BACP Accredited Person-Centred Therapist & Clinical Supervisor

I am a BACP accredited Person-Centred Therapist and Clinical Supervisor, qualified at master’s level with 20+ years’ experience of working with adults, adolescents, individuals and couples. I aim to offer a warm, non-judgemental and supportive space where supervisees can explore all aspects of their practice, at their own pace, and feel genuinely heard.

I have experience of supporting supervisees based in private practice, within EAS’s and NHS services.

I work with trauma, anxiety and depression, childhood (csa), sexual, cultural difference, and relationship issues.

Practice description

As already stated, my primary approach is person-centred, incorporating humanistic, experiential and solution focused aspects. I also have qualifications related to Counselling for Depression, Couple Therapy for Depression, EMDR and CBT. While CBT may occasionally inform my work, it is not my preferred way of working.

In addition to having a clinical supervisor qualification from Person Centred Therapy Britain, I am a qualified Life Coach, Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and have a MA Ed and MBA and a wide range of HR, Training and Coaching qualifications – I enjoy learning! Managing risk has played a significant part of my role when managing therapeutic service delivery. This wider knowledge and experiences sometimes informs the perspectives I bring into supervision.

Overall, supervision is tailored to each supervisee’s needs rather than a fixed model.

I enjoy working with trainee therapists, seeing their confidence grow as their belief in the modality is strengthened, through seeing the impact the core conditions can have with their clients.

My first session

For me, supervision is really important; a safety net that can hold me if needed; somewhere clarity can be obtained and things at the edge of my awareness can be given time to emerge.

The first session is therefore free.

To enable supervisees to check out if they feel we could work together and lead to a strong safety net being established.
