About me and my therapy practice
I have 26 years of clinical experience counselling adults, and children/young people.
My private practice in North Hertfordshire has been running since 2003.
I offer sessions: face to face, telephone or via video-call
I am committed to offering a neuroaffirmative practice.
I practise using the Person-Centred Approach for a range of mental health concerns. I also offer CBT for anxiety-related issues, e.g. panic disorder, OCD, phobias including Emetophobia, and also depression and trauma/PTSD and stress.
My professional development over the last 5 years has enabled me to practice using trauma-informed approaches, including 'Parts Work' based on Internal Family Systems Therapy and the Rewind Technique. I have recently completed the National Autistic Training Programme, and the Foundation in Drawing and Talking.
I have helped clients with anxiety-related conditions, trauma, anger, depression/low mood, stress, worry, bereavement/loss and low confidence, including children who are struggling to attend school (Emotionally Based School Avoidance), and I have a strong track record of supporting parents of neurodivergent children including those with EBSA status, to help them to develop coping strategies.
I have full enhanced DBS clearance for working with children.
My clinical supervision fee is £50 per session (60 minutes).
Practice description
My aim is to enable clients to find their own inner resources for resolving personal problems. I will help individuals to identify underlying causes to their mental health concerns and find more effective ways of coping. The outcomes you can expect may include a greater ability to handle life’s challenges, manage change, emotional dysregulation, build resilience, be more motivated, create a more balanced way of life and an improved sense of emotional wellbeing.
My first session
The sessions are set in the calm, relaxed setting of my conservatory (in Hertfordshire), or via online. The first session is an opportunity for you to share with me, what's on your mind, or a problem you have that has brought you to seeking help.
The sessions are led by you, at your own pace.
Together we can work out how best I can help you, for example, how to work through the difficulties you are currently experiencing, how to manage feelings (e.g. loss, overwhelm, confusion, sadness, anxiety, anger), negative thoughts, or emotional dysregulation (e.g. panic disorder, OCD, phobias including Emetophobia, stress, depression/low mood and trauma/PTSD).
I offer free introductory telephone or video-call consultations.
