About me and my therapy practice

I offer relational, trauma-informed psychotherapy for adults, couples and groups, in person in Shinfield, Reading, and online. My work is particularly suited to people living with the effects of trauma, attachment difficulty, dissociation, shutdown, anxiety, and persistent patterns that remain hard to shift through insight alone.

My approach is body-aware, carefully paced, and responsive to complexity. Some presentations do not immediately look like trauma, yet may reflect adaptations such as over-functioning, disconnection, hypervigilance, or difficulty feeling safe with others. Therapy can help build stability, deepen understanding, and support meaningful, lasting change.

I draw on Relational Transactional Analysis, psychodynamic and somatic psychotherapy, Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), EMDR, and, where clinically appropriate, ILF neurofeedback. The work is tailored carefully to your needs, goals, and capacity, with attention to both the therapeutic relationship and the nervous system.

Practice description

My practice offers psychotherapy that is thoughtful, trauma-informed, and tailored to complexity. I work with adults, couples, groups, trainees, and supervisees, with a particular focus on trauma, dissociation, attachment and relationship difficulties, anxiety, shutdown, and nervous-system dysregulation.

I offer both short-term and longer-term work, depending on what is needed. Sessions are available in person, online, and by telephone. My in-person practice is based in Shinfield, Reading.

The work is paced carefully. This means we do not force insight or trauma processing before there is enough stability and capacity. For some people, therapy begins with building regulation, safety, and a stronger sense of ground before moving into deeper processing.

My first session

The first meeting is a chance to begin understanding what brings you to therapy, what you would like help with, and whether working together feels like a good fit. I will usually ask about your current difficulties, some relevant background, and what you hope may change.

I aim to get a sense not only of the problems themselves, but also of how they affect your daily life, relationships, and nervous system. For some people this includes patterns such as overwhelm, shutdown, dissociation, poor sleep, hypervigilance, or difficulty feeling safe with others.

Where appropriate, the first phase of therapy may involve a short consultation period to understand your needs more fully and think together about pacing, focus, and what kind of support is likely to be most helpful.

Supervisor - Reading

Reading RG2
07803049039
Sessions from £108.00

Features

  • Flexible hours available

Availability

I offer supervision on weekdays, with some early and later appointments by arrangement. Sessions are available in person in Shinfield, Reading, and online.

Availability can change over time, so please feel free to get in touch to ask about current spaces. If I am due to be away, I will let supervisees know in advance wherever possible.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a UKCP-registered Clinical Supervisor and offer clinical supervision for counsellors, psychotherapists, trainees, and other helping professionals. My approach is relational, reflective, and grounded in the view that supervision should support both client welfare and the supervisee’s ethical and professional development.

I aim to provide a thoughtful space in which clinical work can be explored with honesty, care, and sufficient depth. This includes attention to process, relationship, risk, ethics, pacing, and what may be taking place in the body and nervous system as well as in the therapeutic relationship. I work particularly well with supervisees whose practice includes trauma, dissociation, attachment difficulty, shutdown, anxiety, and complex relational patterns.

My supervision is informed by Relational Transactional Analysis, psychodynamic and somatic psychotherapy, Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), EMDR, and nervous-system-informed practice. I welcome both qualified practitioners and trainees.

Practice description

My supervision practice offers a collaborative and reflective space for thinking about clinical work in depth. I see supervision as a place to support safe, ethical, and effective practice, while also helping the supervisee strengthen their confidence, professional identity, and clinical judgement.

Alongside case discussion, supervision can include attention to transference and countertransference, enactment, rupture and repair, pacing, regulation, and the supervisee’s own experience in the room. My aim is for supervision to be both containing and developmental: a space where difficult work can be thought about carefully, uncertainty can be explored, and complexity does not have to be managed alone.

I work with qualified practitioners and trainees, including those whose client work includes trauma, dissociation, attachment and relationship difficulty, anxiety, and nervous-system dysregulation.

My first session

The first supervision meeting is an opportunity to think together about your practice, the context in which you work, and what you need from supervision at this stage. I will usually ask about your client group, modality or modalities, current setting, level of experience, and any particular areas where you would value support.

We may also consider practical matters such as frequency, structure, boundaries, and any training or organisational requirements. Just as importantly, the first meeting is a chance to see whether the supervisory relationship feels thoughtful, workable, and like a good fit for the kind of reflection you need.
