About me and my therapy practice
I work as a Humanistic Integrative counsellor and offer a warm, person-centred approach to counselling that sees you as a whole person, not just your presenting issue. There is a deep belief in this approach that you have the capacity for growth, self-understanding, and positive change and I will be led by you to facilitate your thoughts and understanding of yourself.
This approach is 'integrative' and I have the flexibly from different therapeutic methods to suit your unique needs and circumstances. This includes a mix of person-centred therapy, gestalt techniques, transactional analysis amongst others to tailor the approach that feels right for you in any given moment.
What makes it 'humanistic' is the fundamental respect for your experiences and your innate wisdom. I strive to create a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your feelings, relationships, and life challenges at your own pace. I will not tell you what to do or analyse you from a distance, but will walk alongside you with genuineness, empathy and without judgment.
Practice description
Life gives us struggles in many ways and sometimes we manage and other times we feel overwhelmed. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or bereavement, please know that you will be in a safe and supportive space. We all deal with issues in our own way as we are all unique.
You are individual and will feel and deal with life issues in your own way, which may work often, but not always. You may be dealing with issues that have been with you for many years and would like clarity and a different perspective. Often, just hearing your voice out loud to someone listening without judgment may be all you need to feel something shift inside of you to feel better about life.
As a humanistic integrative counsellor, I work from the belief that you are the expert in your own life. My role is not to give you all the answers, but to walk alongside you as we discover what feels right for you.
Whether you're struggling with persistent worry, feeling low, navigating difficult relationships, or processing loss, we'll work together to help you understand your feelings, find your own strengths and move forward in ways that feel meaningful to you.
Our sessions will be confidential, and you are always in control of what you share and when. Some sessions might feel challenging, whilst others might bring relief or new insights. Whatever comes up, we'll face it together and I always believe there is a way through and I will listen without judgement, to support you through difficult times, and to celebrate your progress, however small it might seem.
In our sessions, you can expect a non-judgemental, warm environment where you may gradually start to embrace who you are. There's no pressure to be "fixed" or to change in any particular way and we will work at your own pace, exploring what matters most to you.
