About me and my therapy practice

I am an empathic and experienced Counsellor, Counselling Supervisor and Children and Young People’s Therapist (CYPT), with over 15 years’ experience supporting young people, adults and families through complex, challenging and life-changing experiences.

I offer a calm, safe and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted. I believe every person is unique, so there is no single approach that works for everyone. I work alongside you with compassion, curiosity and respect, adapting therapy to your individual needs and the world you experience.

I have particular expertise in neurodiversity, supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD/ADD and specific learning differences including Dyslexia and Dyscalculia. I also work with emotional dysregulation, trauma, self-harm, depression, low mood, suicidal thoughts and low self-esteem, as well as the emotional impact of challenges within relationships, education and work.

My approach is integrative, drawing on person-centred, humanistic and psychodynamic approaches alongside psychoeducation. Together, we can explore your thoughts, emotions, experiences and patterns, develop greater self-understanding and consider practical ways forward.

My experience also includes working within educational settings, supporting families and working alongside Family Law Practitioners, as well as providing therapeutic support within corporate and professional environments. I have extensive experience of safeguarding and supporting people through significant life experiences, including trauma, cancer and end-of-life care.

My own life experiences have shaped my understanding of resilience, change and the importance of being genuinely heard. I bring warmth, empathy and authenticity to my work while maintaining clear professional boundaries and ethical practice.

Taking the first step can be difficult. You don't have to navigate it alone — I will help make it easier.

Practice description

I am a Counsellor, Counselling Supervisor and Children and Young People’s Therapist (CYPT), with over 15 years’ experience supporting young people, adults and families through complex and life-changing experiences.

My practice is systemic, person-centred and integrative. I offer a calm, safe and non-judgemental space where you can explore what is happening in your life at a pace that feels right for you. I work collaboratively, taking time to understand your individual experience rather than making assumptions. My approach adapts to you, rather than expecting you to adapt to a standard model of therapy.

I have particular expertise in neurodiversity, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD/ADD and specific learning differences such as Dyslexia and Dyscalculia. I understand how neurodivergence can influence relationships, communication, education, work, emotional well-being and our sense of self.

I have experience supporting trauma, emotional dysregulation, self-harm, depression, low mood, suicidal thoughts and low self-esteem, as well as people facing significant life experiences including cancer and end-of-life care. My work within educational, family and professional settings has also developed my understanding of safeguarding and the wider systems affecting well-being.

A distinctive part of my practice is the natural environment in which I work. Gardens, ponds, woodland and wildlife surround the therapy space, creating a peaceful setting away from the pressures of everyday life. I also bring elements of nature into the therapy room, creating a gentle connection between the therapeutic space and the natural world. Where appropriate, this complements the psychotherapy and forms part of a holistic approach to wellbeing.

You don't need to have the answers before you begin. We can start where you are and work from there.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a Senior Accredited Counsellor, Clinical Counselling Supervisor & Accredited CYPT with the National Counselling Society with many years' of experience working neurodiversity such as A.S.D, ADHD/ADD & SpLD. I believe the role of the Supervisor should be inspiring, supportive, informative and challenging but most of all collaborative.

I use the Seven-Eyed model which was developed by Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet. I feel this model works well with most theoretical approaches.

I work with members of BACP, NCS and other accredited bodies in the field of counselling/psychotherapy or psychology and agree to apply our professioal bodies code of ethical practice to counselling supervision that we undertake together.

Practice description

I am a NCPS Senior Accredited Counsellor with over 15 years’ therapeutic experience and six years’ experience providing supervision to counsellors, psychotherapists and clinicians. My supervisory practice is informed by extensive clinical experience, particularly in neurodiversity, working with young people, adults and families, and within educational settings.

I offer supervision as a safe, supportive, reflective and thoughtfully challenging space where practitioners can explore their clinical work openly, develop their thinking and strengthen confidence in their professional judgement. I believe effective supervision is more than case management; it provides an opportunity to reflect on the therapeutic relationship, use of self, boundaries, ethical practice and the wider systems influencing both client and practitioner.

I have particular expertise in neurodiversity and support practitioners working with neurodivergent children, young people and adults. I can help supervisees explore assumptions, communication, individual needs and appropriate adaptations, while maintaining a person-centred understanding of the client rather than allowing diagnostic labels to define the therapeutic work.

My extensive experience in both state and independent educational settings has also given me a strong understanding of safeguarding, risk, professional boundaries and multi-agency working. I support supervisee's to think through complex cases, safeguarding concerns and ethical dilemmas in a thoughtful, proportionate and professionally accountable way.

I welcome supervisee's at different stages of their professional development, from practitioners developing their confidence to experienced clinicians seeking deeper reflection on complex work. I aim to create supervision that is collaborative, inclusive and grounded in real-world practice.
