About me and my therapy practice

Life can feel really difficult at times. Has something bad happened to you? Have you lost someone you love? Are you feeling sad, stressed, worried or finding it difficult to cope? Are your relationships going wrong? Has the pandemic been difficult to cope with? You don't have to struggle alone. I offer person-centred and creative counselling and psychotherapy in the heart of Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. I can help you to explore your worries, finding a way forward that is right for you.

I offer short and long-term counselling and psychotherapy to adults and young people over 16. I also offer the opportunity to work creatively, as well as in a more traditional way, through talking. This can give you additional ways to express and work through your feelings.

I have experience of working with a wide range of issues, and experience of working in general counselling agencies, primary schools and at a hospice.

Practice description

I am currently able to offer face-to-face, online, and telephone counselling sessions.

Sessions cost £55 and last for 50 minutes.

Longer sessions can be arranged, and will be charged accordingly (£80 for 90 minutes, £110 for 2 hours).

My first session

Face to Face Counselling

The first session is an assessment session, and an opportunity to see if I am the right counsellor for you.

Prior to the session, I will send you my client agreement, my privacy policy, and my information sheet about face-to-face counselling. I will also send you my assessment form, which asks for some of your personal details.

During the session, we will talk about what's caused you to seek counselling, and what you'd like to get out of counselling with me. If you're comfortable, we'll start to talk around the issues.

It's important that you feel comfortable with whoever you choose as your counsellor, and it's important for me to make sure I'm the right counsellor for you. If I feel a different method of counselling would suit your particular problem better, or if I feel you would benefit from a more specialised service, I will tell you, and refer you on if you would like me to.

There is no obligation to continue counselling with me if you choose not to after the first session.

Online and Telephone Counselling

When working online or on the telephone, I will send you my client agreement and privacy policy in advance of the first session, and ask you to sign them and send them back to me. I will also ask you to complete my assessment form with your personal details, and a few questions about what has led you to seek counselling prior to our first session.

During the first session, if you have any questions about these documents, we will talk through them, and as with face to face work, we will talk through what has caused you to seek counselling, as well as what you'd like to get out of counselling with me.

As with face to face counselling, the first session is an opportunity to see if I am the right counsellor for you. There is no obligation to continue if you choose not to.
