About me and my therapy practice

Hi, welcome to my profile and thank you for taking the time to look at my details. I currently have availability for individuals or couples in person, online or telephone counselling. I am a warm, empathic, calm and non-judgemental counsellor. I would like to offer you the time to talk about what is going on in your world in a calm safe space where you will be accepted warmly and truly listened to.

I strongly believe the therapeutic relationship we build will enable you to let me see your world through your eyes. Then together, at your pace we can gently explore the possibilities open to you. Sometimes we can react to life’s experiences in an automatic learned way which we never question. Being more aware of these learned behaviours, thoughts and feelings can open up other possibilities, allow you to see things from a new angle, change your automatic responses to be relevant and helpful now and for your future.

Practice description

It is often hard to ask for help but I have found most people say they feel a real sense of relief at having taken that first step and wish they had done it much earlier. To help you decide if counselling may be for you, I offer a no obligation, free of charge introductory telephone call lasting up to 20 mins.

I offer individual and couples counselling on either a short or long term basis to suit individual needs and circumstances.

My formal training was in humanistic counselling based on Transactional Analysis, however, over time, I have gained experience in other modalities and tend to tailor my approach to suit the individuals and couples I work with.

I have several years experience from volunteering and working in local agencies. This has enabled me to work with clients with many different issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship issues, divorce, redundancy, bullying and many others.
