About me and my therapy practice

Hello. Making the decision to come to counselling is a courageous step.

With almost 25 years experience, I am a counsellor for adults, couples and 11-18 year olds.

I aim to work with clients providing an environment of trust and respect for their uniqueness, so that they feel empowered, more radiant and able to move towards a more satisfying way of being and living.

I offer couples sessions for £90.

Practice description

People who come for counselling may have a specific problem they want to deal with, or perhaps they want to gain greater self awareness.

There is no right or wrong reason as it wholly depends on the individual’s needs.

The time span of therapy is always the client’s decision: short term or open ended.

I offer a free 15 minute introductory telephone or zoom call.

My first session

In our first session, we will explore your reasons for coming and if you think it could be a useful space for you to have. It is also a chance for you to see how you feel with me. About me and my therapy practice

With over 15 years experience, I work with trainee and qualified counsellors/psychotherapists and offer supervision in both 1-1 and group format.

I am on the approved humanistic and person centred supervisor lists at Metanoia Institute.

I also supervise domestic violence advocates and student union advice workers.

Practice description

As a supervisor, I am hoping to model core ways of ethical practice, but it is important to say that I learn from my supervisees  too, always reflecting on my own way of working in the process.

I encourage supervisees to find their own way of being and hope to help them gain confidence in their knowledge and ability.

I aim to be flexible as appreciate that each supervisee will have different needs.

Whilst the well being and safety of the client are always at the core of the supervisory space, I aim to establish an empathic and warm relationship where the supervisee is both empowered and supported as well as challenged.

I incorporate a variety of theoretical orientations that I have studied into my supervisory work: adapting to what the trainee’s course requirements are or what the qualified supervisee is looking for.

Themes that are important to think about include safe and ethical practice, working sensitively with difference and diversity, self awareness and self reflection.

As a supervisor, I am very feeling led and find it vital to explore the impact of client material/personality on the supervisee and what this evokes.
