About me and my therapy practice

I believe that being truly heard and accepted can be a powerful experience. My aim is to offer a safe, warm and non-judgemental space where you can come exactly as you are, without feeling that you need to have everything worked out before we begin.

I am a person-centred counsellor and have worked with people for over 20 years, including within the NHS. Over that time, I have come to appreciate that no two people are the same, and that what may be helpful for one person may not be right for another. I therefore work with you as an individual, taking time to understand your experiences, your relationships, your feelings and what matters to you.

You may be coming to counselling because you are struggling with anxiety, low self-worth, relationships, difficult emotions, a life transition, or simply because you feel stuck or no longer feel like yourself. You may not even know exactly what is wrong. That is okay. We can begin with wherever you are.

I will listen with openness and without judgement, allowing you the time and space to explore things at your own pace. I won’t tell you what you should do or give you ready-made answers. Instead, I will work alongside you, helping you to understand yourself more deeply and to recognise your own strengths, needs and choices.

My own spiritual outlook is also an important part of how I see people and their capacity for growth, meaning and connection. I recognise that spirituality can mean different things to different people. I will never impose my beliefs, but if spirituality, faith, values or questions about meaning are important to you, these can be explored safely within our work together.

Ultimately, I hope you experience our sessions as a place where you can be honest, understood and accepted. My intention is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship in which, over time, you can develop greater self-understanding, self-acceptance and confidence, and feel more able to move forward in a way that feels right for you.

Practice description

When you come to counselling with me, you can expect a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted for who you are.

I am a person-centred counsellor, which means I believe you are the expert in your own life. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you as you explore what is happening for you. We will work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you, creating space to understand your thoughts, feelings, relationships and experiences.

You may come to counselling feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, lacking in confidence or struggling with something that has happened in your life. Sometimes you may not be completely sure what you need help with. That is okay. We can start wherever you are and gently explore what feels important to you.

I have over 20 years’ experience as a counsellor, including working within the NHS. This experience has taught me to see the person behind the difficulties they are experiencing and to recognise that everyone has their own story, strengths and ways of coping.

My approach is also influenced by my spiritual outlook. I believe that exploring meaning, values, connection and a person’s sense of self can sometimes be an important part of healing and growth. I will never impose my own beliefs, but if spirituality or faith is meaningful to you, there is space for this within our work.

Most importantly, I want you to feel that you can be yourself with me. I offer a safe and confidential relationship where you can speak openly, without judgement, and take the time you need to understand yourself more deeply. My hope is that through our work together you can develop greater self-awareness, self-acceptance and confidence, and feel more able to move forward in a way that feels right for you.

About me and my therapy practice

As a supervisor, I want to offer a space where you can feel safe enough to be honest, curious and reflective about your work. I believe good supervision is not about having all the answers; it is about having the space to think, question, explore and sometimes sit with uncertainty.

My approach is person-centred and relational. I bring my experience of over 20 years as a counsellor, including my work within the NHS, while recognising that every practitioner is different. I am interested in helping you develop your own therapeutic identity rather than expecting you to work in a particular way.

I encourage supervisees to bring the whole picture to supervision – the client, the therapeutic relationship, your responses and feelings, and anything that may be happening beneath the surface. I believe our own experiences can sometimes be touched by the work we do, and that exploring this with compassion can deepen both our self-awareness and our practice.

I offer a supportive but thoughtful space where difficult clients, uncertainty, mistakes and self-doubt can all be explored without judgement. Alongside this, I hold in mind the importance of ethical practice, professional boundaries and our responsibilities as counsellors.

My spiritual outlook is part of who I am and informs my understanding of people and their capacity for growth, meaning and change. I hold this lightly and respectfully, making space for each supervisee’s own beliefs, values and worldview.

For me, supervision is ultimately about supporting you to become more confident, self-aware and authentic in your work, while ensuring that the client remains at the heart of our thinking.

Practice description

My supervisory practice is based on creating a relationship where practitioners feel supported, respected and able to bring their work honestly. I offer supervision to counsellors who want a space to reflect on their practice, develop professionally and deepen their understanding of themselves within the therapeutic relationship.

With over 20 years’ experience as a counsellor, including working within the NHS, I bring a broad range of clinical experience to supervision. I understand the realities of therapeutic work and the importance of having somewhere to think through the complexities that can arise in our work with clients.

My supervision is person-centred, relational and collaborative. I am interested not only in what is happening for the client, but also in what is happening for you as the practitioner. We may explore your responses, feelings, instincts and uncertainties, and consider what these might be telling us about the therapeutic relationship. I believe that developing our self-awareness is an important part of becoming a confident and authentic practitioner.

I offer a space where you can bring challenging clients, difficult feelings, uncertainty or situations where you simply feel stuck. I aim to provide warmth and acceptance while also offering thoughtful challenge when it may help you see something differently.

I recognise that supervisees are at different stages of their professional journey, and I adapt my supervision to the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. My intention is to help you trust your own therapeutic voice while maintaining ethical and professionally responsible practice.

My spiritual outlook is also part of who I am. I value exploration of meaning, connection and personal growth, while remaining respectful and open to each supervisee’s own beliefs and worldview.

For me, supervision is a place to pause, reflect, learn and grow — so that you can return to your work with greater clarity, confidence and authenticity.
