About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, an Accredited Member of the BACP, and a member of the EMDR Association UK. Alongside my Diploma in Group Analysis, I am trained to work with both individuals and groups. Since 2012, I have worked across NHS mental health services, charitable organisations, community therapy settings, and private practice.
My therapeutic approach centres on the understanding that our early relationships deeply shape how we feel, behave, and connect with others in the present. I also consider the broader social and environmental forces that influence our emotional lives and sense of identity.
I have a strong clinical interest in relational trauma and specialise in working with narcissistic abuse and pathological love relationships. I have undertaken advanced training with Sandra Brown and the Institute for Relational Harm Reduction, focusing on the impact of relationships with partners who display narcissistic, psychopathic, or sociopathic traits, and the unique recovery needs that follow.
I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where we can explore whatever difficulties you may be facing. Together, we can work towards greater clarity, resilience, and a stronger sense of yourself within your relationships and your life.
Practice description
I offer individual therapy in person or online, with the option of single-session work, short-term therapy, or longer-term depth exploration.
Although my practice is grounded in psychodynamic understanding, I do not believe one approach fits all. I tailor my work to each client, drawing on Transactional Analysis, Group Analysis, and EMDR, Polyvagal Theory & Forward-facing Trauma Therapy to meet your needs.
I also provide specialist support informed by training with the Institute for Relational Harm Reduction, focusing on recovery from narcissistic abuse and pathological love relationships.
My style is warm, empathetic, and collaborative, while also providing clear boundaries and gentle challenge where needed. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship creates the foundation for insight, growth, and meaningful change.
My first session
The initial session is a good way for us to get to know each other, to see if we can work together and jointly decide what your therapeutic goal might be and how we can achieve it. The rate for the initial session is the same as all consecutive sessions.
