About me and my therapy practice

Hello, and a warm welcome to you.

I am an experienced integrative therapist offering online counselling sessions for adults and young people aged 14 and over.

I am available for appointments from Monday to Thursday, with both daytime and evening slots.

As an integrative therapist, I draw on various therapeutic styles and techniques to identify the best approach for you. I provide a welcoming, friendly and confidential space where you can be yourself, without fear of judgement.

My work is collaborative; I recognise that each person I work with is unique, with different wants, needs, and hopes for the future. I fundamentally believe that each individual knows themselves best. However, life can present challenges, such as childhood experiences or traumatic events, that may obscure that self-knowledge. My role is to support you in finding your way back to yourself.

Authenticity is incredibly important to me as a therapist. I believe it is possible to maintain professionalism and clear boundaries while creating a warm, safe space fostering curiosity, openness, and compassion.

No matter what struggles, emotional distress, or questions have led you here, therapy will be a space where you will feel deeply listened to and supported as you journey towards greater ease and a more fulfilled life.

Practice description

Seeking therapy can feel like a significant step. My aim is to create a compassionate and emotionally safe space where you can explore whatever has brought you to therapy.

Working collaboratively, we can develop a deeper understanding of your experiences, helping you discover new ways of relating to yourself and the world.

I have trained in and work with a range of therapeutic models, including person-centred therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, and brainspotting.

Brainspotting is an innovative brain-body-based therapy that has developed out of EMDR. It works with the deep brain, emotions and experiences that become stuck in our body and prevent us from functioning and living our lives as we want to. It is very helpful for releasing and processing trauma.

I also work creatively when it feels helpful, recognising that for some people, expressing themselves through words alone can be difficult. I am especially interested in the internal narratives we develop about ourselves and the benefits of exploring these.

As a late-diagnosed AuDHD person, I bring my lived experience, understanding and knowledge into my therapeutic work.

Having worked within the Health and Social Care sector for over twenty years, I have significant experience of the many difficulties and challenges people encounter.

I have extensive experience working in the following areas:

• Autism and ADHD

• addiction and recovery

• work-related issues

• relationship difficulties

• grief and loss

I have completed specialist training in the following areas:

• Neurodiversity Affirming Practice

• Counselling for Sight Loss

• Specialist training in Pregnancy and Baby Loss

Roles I have carried out in addition to my private therapy practice include:

• Service Manager - Adults 12-step residential rehabilitation service and community recovery centre

• Service Manager - HMP Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service

• Manager - Children and Young People's counselling service

• NHS Counsellor - Children and Young People

Prior to your first session I provide a free initial 15 minute telephone conversation.
