Availability
I am currently available to take on new clients and am not intending to take any extended breaks in the near future. If you are available during the daytime it should be relatively easy to find a time which works for you, but if you prefer late afternoon or evening I am working on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
About me and my therapy practice
I am BACP Accredited and my specialist areas are childhood trauma and abuse of all types (particularly sexual abuse and emotional neglect), bereavement and relationships. I also support people suffering with many other issues including anxiety, depression, anger, obsessive thoughts, suicidal feelings and symptoms of PTSD such as flashbacks and dissociation.
I believe relationships play an important part in our emotional and mental wellbeing and trained with Relate in order to work with couples who need to work through their issues in a safe place.
I also support people who have experienced an abusive relationship (including bullying and coercive control) or sexual violence as an adult. However, it can sometimes be more straightforward and some issues can be resolved by changing certain behaviours and how we communicate.
I spent several years with a national charity which supports people who have experienced many types of bereavement. A complicated bereavement can make it hard to grieve, particularly when a child suffers the death of a parent, but the death of anybody close can be devastating at any age, especially the death of a child (or unborn child), sudden death and bereavement by suicide, all of which can be life-changing.
I am currently working online only but I can do home visits if you are in my part of the world. This can be particularly helpful for couples with small children or anybody with mobility issues.
If you would like to know more about me please see my website, call me or send a text or email. Whatever you are going through right now, you don't need to suffer alone and in silence; I look forward to hearing from you.
Practice description
My rate for individuals is £60 and for couples it is £75. I do not increase my fees for existing clients so you will not have to pay any more.
My first session
My way of working is flexible and my focus will be on empowering you to decide what you want from the therapy and making your own decisions. I can offer a professional opinion but I will not offer advice about any particular decision you want to take.
I am not the kind of therapist who gives homework or works with an agenda, but I might give you ideas and strategies about how you can process what comes up for you in sessions. It will be a two-way process and I will always be open to hearing your feedback.
