About me and my therapy practice
Therapist for Women Who Feel Stuck Despite Doing the Work
Gretna & Online
I am a BACP accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with over 25 years’ experience supporting women through anxiety, life transitions, relationship difficulties and times of deep personal change.
You might have done therapy before.
You might understand yourself really well.
But something still isn’t shifting.
You’re holding everything together on the outside, yet underneath you don’t feel fully yourself. You’re functioning, coping, even doing well, but not quite fully in your life.
My work is not about coping better — it’s about real change. If you’re ready to stop circling the same patterns, this is where we go further.
I offer a deeper, relational way of working that goes beyond surface-level support. Rather than just talking things through, we stay with what is happening and allow real movement and change to emerge.
Many women I work with are thoughtful, capable and self-aware, but find themselves repeating patterns they cannot shift alone.
This is not quick-fix work, but it is work that leads to lasting change. It requires a willingness to stay with yourself, even when things feel uncomfortable — and that’s where the shift happens.
I don’t follow a rigid method. I work with you in a way that responds to what is actually happening, so the work can go to the depth needed for real change.
The work is collaborative, spacious and responsive, held within a clear and contained structure.
I work best when we meet regularly, weekly or fortnightly, so the work can deepen and stabilise over time.
I offer 90-minute sessions at £135.
I work both in person and online.
If you recognise yourself in this, you’re very welcome to get in touch to enquire about working together.
I am based in Gretna. People travel from surrounding areas including Cumbria, the Scottish Borders, Newcastle and Edinburgh, and I also work with clients across the UK online.
Practice description
My practice offers a thoughtful, depth-oriented space for women who are functioning in their lives yet sense that something within them needs attention, expression or change.
Outwardly, you may appear capable and responsible, often holding a great deal for others. Inwardly, you may feel disconnected from yourself, creatively frustrated, in transition, or aware that old ways of living are no longer working.
This is often a point where something deeper is asking to be met.
In our work together, complexity is welcome. Strong feelings, long-standing patterns and different aspects of yourself can be explored safely and at a respectful pace. The work is shaped around who you are, rather than following a fixed programme or plan.
Alongside conversation and reflective exploration, sessions may include body awareness and creative processes such as image or writing, if this feels helpful. I have both a consulting room and an art studio on site.
Many people come to this work when they want something more honest, self-directed and alive in their lives, and are ready to engage with themselves in a deeper way.
I also have many years of experience supporting people through difficult or crisis periods, offering steady, grounded support when things feel overwhelming.
My first session
The first session is a relaxed and exploratory conversation where we meet and begin to get a sense of whether the way I work feels right for you.
There is no formal assessment process. You are welcome to bring whatever feels important, and we begin at your pace.
I will explain how I work, including practicalities such as session length, frequency, fees and confidentiality, and there will be space for you to ask any questions.
Some people arrive knowing exactly what they want to work on, while others come with a general sense that something needs attention or change. Both are welcome.
There is no pressure to commit beyond the first session. If we choose to continue, we will find a way of working together that supports depth, consistency and meaningful change.
