About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with over 25 years’ experience working in depth. Alongside this professional training, my work has evolved into a transformative, relational coaching practice for women who are ready for profound change in how they live, create and relate to themselves.

Much of my work is with women in midlife who are no longer willing to live within old roles, expectations or identities and are at a threshold of change. I am particularly at ease with complexity, strong personalities and the places where life does not fit into simple categories. Many of the women who come to me are capable, high-functioning and carrying a great deal internally. They may be used to being the strong one, the responsible one, or the one who holds everything together, and are now at a point where something more authentic is asking to emerge. Coaching with me is a place where that process can unfold safely, with clarity, depth and warmth.

I also work with counsellors, psychotherapists, coaches and other practitioners who are seeking their own depth work alongside professional development. They value a space where they can think, feel and grow beyond models and roles, and where their personal and professional selves can be held together.

I no longer offer traditional, high-volume counselling. Instead, I work with a small number of clients in a way that is spacious, steady and deeply engaged. The work is not about quick fixes but about real, embodied transformation.

My approach is informed by psychotherapy, attachment awareness, creative, somatic processes, and sitting alongside women through complex life transitions. Sessions can include emotional and relational exploration, identity and purpose, visibility, creative expression, boundaries, and developing a way of living that feels self-led.

I work online, in person, weekly/fortnightly. My practice is intentionally limited so our work is held with care and consistency.  Mon-Sat, incl evenings/weekends.

Practice description

My practice offers a depth-oriented, relational space for women who are functioning in their lives yet know that something more is asking for attention, expression or change. Outwardly they are often capable and responsible, holding a great deal for others. Inwardly they may be experiencing a sense of disconnection, transition, creative frustration, questions of identity or a growing awareness that old ways of living no longer fit.

This is a space where complexity is welcome and where strong feelings, powerful aspects of self and long-held patterns can be explored safely and at a respectful pace. The work is shaped around who you are rather than following a fixed programme.

Sessions draw on talking, reflective exploration, body awareness and, where helpful, creative processes such as image and writing. Creative work is simply another way of accessing experience when words alone are not enough, if this resonates for you. I have an art studio and a consulting room on site.

Clients often arrive at a threshold in their lives, wanting something more truthful, self-directed and alive. This is not a crisis service or a quick-fix approach, but a thoughtful, engaged and professionally boundaried piece of work for those who want depth, honesty and real change.

My first session

The first session is a relaxed and exploratory conversation where we meet and get a sense of whether the way I work feels right for you. There is no formal assessment process. You are welcome to bring whatever feels important, and we begin at your pace.

I will explain how I work, including practicalities such as session length, frequency, fees and confidentiality, and there will be space for you to ask any questions. The focus is on creating a space that feels safe, respectful and unhurried rather than gathering detailed history.

Some people arrive knowing exactly what they want to work on, while others come with a general sense that something needs to change. Both are welcome. You are not expected to commit to ongoing work until you feel ready, and we will only continue if it feels like a good fit for both of us.

About me and my therapy practice

Honouring Our Yoni - Creative Days

My work is one-to-one, experiential and depth-oriented. Each Honouring Our Yoni day is shaped around the individual woman and the particular themes she is bringing, including the complex relationship between body, identity, sexuality, creativity and professional role.

I work in a relational and unhurried way, offering a warm, steady and professionally boundaried space in which intuitive image-making, reflection, body awareness and dialogue can unfold organically. There is no fixed structure and no pressure to produce an outcome. The emphasis is on process, symbolic expression and the development of self-trust.

My background as a BACP accredited psychotherapist and transformative coach informs how I hold the day. I am attentive to nervous system regulation, attachment patterns, shame, defence and the impact of holding responsibility for others in professional roles. This makes the work particularly relevant for counsellors, psychotherapists, coaches, supervisors and trainees who are seeking a space where their own depth process can be met alongside their professional development.

Time is intentionally spacious so that what emerges can be integrated rather than analysed or rushed. The focus is on accompaniment, ethical holding and strengthening the practitioner’s capacity to remain present with complexity in their own work.

Practice description

Honouring Our Yoni days are individual, in-person studio-based experiences held in my dedicated art studio and consulting room.

They are especially suited to counsellors, psychotherapists, coaches, supervisors and trainees who want an experiential way of deepening their personal work alongside their professional practice. The day offers a private and carefully held space in which to explore themes that are often difficult to bring into peer or training environments, including embodiment, sexuality, identity, visibility, creative inhibition and life transitions.

Working one-to-one allows the pace and depth to be shaped entirely around the individual. This is particularly important for practitioners who are accustomed to holding others and who rarely have a space where they themselves are accompanied at this level.

The day may include meditation, intuitive painting, reflective writing and therapeutic dialogue. No artistic experience is needed. The focus is on process and on encountering the image as a form of communication beyond words.

The studio environment forms part of the therapeutic container. Abundant materials, a calm and aesthetically held space and the privacy of individual work support safety, dignity and depth.

These days provide an opportunity for integration rather than the acquisition of techniques, strengthening the practitioner’s presence, perception and confidence in working relationally and creatively.

My first session

As this work takes place within a single, one-to-one studio day, our first meeting is the beginning of that day together.

We start with a gentle arrival and conversation allowing time for you to settle into the space and for us to think together about what has brought you and what you would like from the day. There is no formal assessment. We move at the pace your body and nervous system trust.

I will outline practicalities such as confidentiality, boundaries and the structure of the day, and there is space for you to ask any questions. Everything that emerges in the studio is held in confidence in the same way as within therapeutic work.

The day then unfolds through a blend of meditation, intuitive painting (absolutely no previous art experience necessary), reflective exploration and dialogue, with unhurried time for integration. You are free to work in silence when needed and to take breaks.

Your painting and any written work remain entirely your own and leave with you at the end of the day.

This is a self-contained piece of work. Some women choose to return for further days at a later point, perhaps to paint the Tree of their Life or to Unleash Their Goddess - but there is no expectation to do so.

There are opportunities to join a small group of 4 women to participate together in a creative day.  There are optional.
