I am an accredited integrative counsellor, and my work brings together elements of CBT and EFT in a way that is responsive to each person’s needs. My approach is collaborative and steady: I aim to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and understood, while also supporting them to make meaningful changes in their lives.
In practice, this means I pay close attention to both thoughts and emotions. From a CBT perspective, I help clients notice patterns that may be keeping them stuck and explore practical ways to shift them. From an EFT perspective, I work gently with emotional experience, helping clients understand what their feelings are communicating and how these emotions can guide healing rather than overwhelm.
My style is warm, grounded, and non‑judgemental. I work at a pace that feels manageable, whether someone is dealing with anxiety, low mood, trauma, relationship difficulties, or the impact of life transitions. I draw on my training in neurodiversity, substance use, homelessness and addiction, and working with vulnerable adults, which helps me hold a sensitive awareness of the wider contexts people live within.
Above all, I see therapy as a shared process. I work alongside clients to help them build insight, strengthen coping, and reconnect with their own resilience and sense of self.
Practice description
I am an accredited integrative counsellor offering a calm, supportive space where clients can explore what they are experiencing at a pace that feels safe and manageable. My work brings together CBT and EFT, allowing me to support both the practical and emotional aspects of a person’s difficulties. This means we might look at patterns of thought and behavior that are keeping you stuck, while also working gently with the emotions underneath, helping you understand and respond to them in a more compassionate and grounded way.
I have many years of experience working with gambling‑related issues, including the emotional, relational, and financial impacts that often accompany them. This background allows me to offer informed, sensitive support to individuals and families affected by gambling harm, helping them rebuild stability, confidence, and a sense of control.
My approach is collaborative and respectful. I see therapy as a shared process where we work together to build insight, strengthen coping, and create meaningful change. I also draw on additional training in neurodiversity, substance use, homelessness and addiction, and working with vulnerable adults, which helps me hold a wider awareness of the contexts people may be navigating.
I offer daytime, evening, and Saturday appointments, and I aim to provide a steady, reliable space where you can feel heard, supported, and understood.
My first session
Your first session with me is a gentle, steady introduction to the work we may do together. I begin by getting to know what has brought you to therapy and what you feel you need at this point in your life. There is no pressure to share more than feels comfortable we go at your pace.
We will explore what you would like to focus on, any goals you may have, and what you hope to gain from therapy. I also explain how I work as an accredited integrative counsellor, drawing on CBT and EFT. This means we might look at patterns in your thoughts and behaviours, while also paying close attention to your emotional experience and what it may be communicating.
If you are coming with gambling‑related concerns, or the impact of someone else’s gambling, I bring many years of specialist experience to help you feel understood and supported from the outset.
The first session is also a chance for you to get a sense of me, ask questions, and see whether my approach feels like a good fit. My aim is to create a calm, respectful space where you feel safe, heard, and able to begin the process of change in a way that feels manageable.
