You don’t have to face your challenges alone. I’m here to walk alongside you with warmth, understanding and support.
I am a fully qualified and experienced Therapeutic Counsellor, offering Person-Centred counselling to adults aged 18 and over.
Sometimes life can feel overwhelming. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, stress, bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem or the impact of past experiences. Perhaps something in your life has changed, or you may simply have a sense that things don’t feel right and you’re not quite sure why.
You might also understand what you would like to change but find yourself feeling stuck. Sometimes the familiar can feel safer than the uncertainty of doing something differently, even when we know that our current way of coping is no longer helping us.
My approach is warm, compassionate and non-judgemental. I won’t tell you what to do or assume that I know what is best for you. Instead, I will support you in exploring your thoughts, feelings and experiences, helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, recognise patterns that may be holding you back and begin to discover what feels right for you.
My work is Person-Centred and trauma-informed, and I recognise that everyone experiences and processes life differently. Where it may be helpful, I can also offer psychoeducation to help you understand experiences such as anxiety, stress and the body’s threat response.
Alongside my core counselling training, I continue to develop my practice through ongoing professional development, with particular interests in trauma, anxiety, relationships, neurodiversity and the experiences that can leave us feeling stuck.
At the heart of my work is the belief that greater self-awareness and self-understanding can help us develop trust in ourselves and our ability to cope, make choices and create meaningful change.
Practice description
Therapy with me offers a calm, supportive and confidential space where you can talk openly about whatever is happening for you, without judgement or pressure.
Although Person-Centred counselling is at the heart of my work, I draw on my wider training and experience where this may help you better understand what you are experiencing, while always keeping you and your individual needs at the centre of our work.
I work collaboratively and at your pace. There is no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about, why you feel the way you do, or what needs to change. Sometimes understanding this becomes part of the therapeutic process.
I offer both short-term and longer-term counselling. Our work will be individual to you rather than following a set programme, and we can regularly reflect together on how therapy is feeling and what you are finding helpful.
I offer one-to-one counselling for adults aged 18 and over, either face-to-face or online.
Appointments are available throughout the week, with a range of daytime and some evening sessions available.
I offer a free 20-minute telephone or video consultation, giving us an opportunity to briefly discuss what has brought you to counselling, answer any questions you may have and see whether working together feels right for you. There is no obligation to continue afterwards.
Face-to-face sessions are £55 for 50 minutes and take place in a comfortable and private therapy room in the Whitefield/Radcliffe area, with parking available.
Online sessions are £45 for 50 minutes and are held by video, allowing you the flexibility to access counselling from a private space that feels comfortable for you.
Payment can be made by bank transfer or cash. My fees are reviewed periodically; however, your agreed fee will remain the same for the duration of our work together.
NB: Please check your spam or junk folder if you don’t see a reply, as emails can occasionally end up there.
My first session
I understand that meeting a counsellor for the first time can feel a little daunting, particularly if you have never experienced counselling before. You don’t need to prepare anything or know exactly what you want to say.
If you choose to have a free 20-minute introductory consultation first, we can talk briefly about what has brought you to counselling and what you hope it might offer you. It is also an opportunity to ask me questions and get a sense of whether you feel comfortable talking with me.
If you decide you would like to continue, our first counselling session gives us more time to explore what is happening for you and what you would like support with.
I won’t expect you to tell me everything straight away. Trust takes time to develop, and you are always in control of what you choose to share. We will work at a pace that feels manageable for you.
There is no test to pass and no “right” way to do therapy. You may come with something very specific that you want to explore, or you may simply know that you are struggling and want some help making sense of how you feel.
The relationship between counsellor and client is an important part of therapy, so our early sessions are also an opportunity for you to decide whether I feel like the right counsellor for you.
If we choose to work together, we can begin to explore what you need from counselling and how I can best support you.
