About me and my therapy practice

My work as an integrative counsellor and supervisor is rooted in a belief in the value of genuine connection. For more than 37 years, I’ve supported people and their families through some of the most challenging and significant moments of their lives. Much of my career has been spent working with addiction, where I’ve seen both the weight of people’s struggles and the strength that can emerge when they have the right support.

Alongside this, I’ve worked with adults facing a wide range of difficulties — trauma, depression, low motivation, relationship breakups, anger, stress, grief, loss, health related issues and periods of feeling stuck or directionless. These examples aren’t exhaustive, but they outline the breadth of my experience. Each person I’ve worked with has reinforced the importance of being met with clarity, respect, and understanding.

Supporting adolescents and young adults has been an important part of my practice. I’ve worked with young people navigating identity questions, emotional overwhelm, family conflict, and the challenges of growing into themselves. This work has taught me the value of steady presence, clear boundaries, and meeting each person at their own pace.

My grief work has been shaped by my time volunteering in a hospice. Sitting with individuals during times of loss and uncertainty, taught me to listen carefully and to respect the pace at which people move through grief. This experience continues to influence the calm; grounded way I support people facing bereavement or major life transitions.

Practice description

My approach is rooted in humanistic values of warmth and presence, complemented by psychodynamic perspectives that help make sense of how early experiences and long standing patterns continue to shape life today. My own life experiences influence my approach as well, allowing me to meet people with a balance of empathy, clarity, and practicality.

As an integrative therapist, I draw from a range of approaches so the work can be tailored to what you need. I offer long term therapy for deeper exploration, as well as shorter term, solution focused sessions for people wanting to work toward specific goals or immediate challenges. Whether you’re looking to understand long standing patterns or find a clearer way forward, we can shape the work around what feels most useful to you.

My clients and supervisees have commented on my warm and open approach. I offer a steady, thoughtful space where you can talk openly about what’s going on in your life. My aim is to support you in making sense of your experiences and developing a clearer way forward.

I offer a free 15‑minute phone consultation where we can explore what brings you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and help you get a sense of whether I’m the right fit for you. About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified Integrative Supervisor with many years of experience in supervisory and managerial roles across therapeutic services.

Over the past 37 years, I’ve supported practitioners working in environments shaped by substance use, trauma, and family complexity, and I understand the emotional and organisational demands these settings can bring.

My supervisory style is warm, open, and adaptable. I aim to offer a space where you can think freely about your work, feel supported in the challenges you meet, and develop your practice with a sense of grounding and insight. I value honest reflection, steady collaboration, and conversations that help you deepen your understanding of yourself and your client work.

Practice description

I bring three decades of experience in drug and alcohol work, supporting people with complex and often traumatic backgrounds.

Alongside this, my career has included roles in counselling agencies, hospice volunteering, and therapeutic management, giving me a broad understanding of the many contexts practitioners work within.

I have also led a college‑based counselling service, supporting young people with a wide range of needs.

I now work with both qualified Counsellors and Trainees, offering supervision that is reflective, holistic, and responsive to each practitioner’s way of working. My aim is to create a space where you can think openly, feel supported, and develop your practice with confidence.”
